Alright. One unique Outlander thread!
Scruffy - Luisa Digger - Partner/Angel Spotty - Paws Dotty - Namacub95 Chippy - Phantom Sly-Eye/Lazy-Eye - Zee Beauty Spot - Sapphire
---------------------------------------------
Sunset over the Outlands was one of the few times that the relentless heat of the day began to subside. The landscape was bathed in gold and orange light so it almost looked as if the sky and earth were the one colour.
It was also a time for relaxation. The hunt had come back with their few catches and everyone had settled down to eat.
Dotty, however, had sprawled herself out in the shadow of one of the great termite mounds. She had not only been training that day, she had been out hunting as well but because her group came back with very little they had been on the receiving end of Zira's temper. Dotty made it a point of avoiding the former queen as much as possible.

((Just a note, people, don't exactly expect me to play DWoW's scruffy here. I'll play my own version of her.)
Scruffy, as many others, had also settled down to eat, but had naturally been pushed away by stronger lionesses. Fluffy feline huffed. She had taken part in the hunt, she'd even helped bring down one of their prey, and still she couldn't eat. Zira didn't seem to mind much, naturally. She and her laws of "only the strongest survive" stinked. Grumpy lioness grumbled and cursed under her breath, before noticing someone relaxing on a shaded spot. Scruffy approached the lioness, noticing she was Dotty once she got near enough.
"Mind if I make you company?" Scruffy asked, planting her rear on the ground, close to Dotty. "After all, if I can't eat, I suppose we could just, ya know, hang around."

A third lioness approached the group with her head held high and a bit of a grin on her face. Chippy hadn't participated in the hunt, but she thought she had done exceptionally well at training that day. Not one doofy slip up! Chippy reached Dotty and Scruffy after a few moments and laid down near them. "Hey, guys. What's up?" Chippy asked. She doofily rolled over onto her side and stretched her paws out, following it up with a big yawn. "Some training session, huh? I didn't think it would ever end." she said.

Spotty's head hung low. Hunting was a bust, the training was absolutely rough, and the lioness wanted nothing more at that point to curl up and sleep. Might as well find a place to relax, right? She spotted her sister, Dotty, and two other lionesses with her. What was going on there? Couldn't hurt to find out.
Spotty sprawled out close to the lionesses. "Hey guys!" she greeted, followed by a huge yawn. "Man, I'm beat. Some hunt, huh sis?" she inquired, a sleepy smile forming on her maw.

A smile formed when her sister flopped down beside her. Spotty was probably the person she was closest to in the whole pride, next to Nuka her best friend and crush, so she felt more at ease in her company than anyone else's. Still, she didn't turn way Scruffy and Chippy when they approached. She gave a small nod at Chippy's statement then turned her golden eyes to her sister.
"I know. Those damn zebras kept giving us the run around. I swear they were laughing at us. Stupid prey." Dotty huffed in response to her sister "You know, I think I'd rather wrestle with a crocodile than try to tell Zira's there's no food."

"Yes well ya betta' get used to no food girls," came a thickly accented voice, "An' ya betta' tell Zira der's no food, ya undastand?" Femme approached the group. She was older than the other girls there, older than Zira even. A femme of seasoned years, the lady walked up to Dotty giving her a snort. The hunt hadn't gone the way she'd wanted it to go and she knew that it was the other lioness' fault. Not her's. Those stupid young lionesses. The elder lioness rolled her shoulders forward and roared a yawn. Lying down on the ground, Sly-Eye, that was her name, gave a slick look to the other lionesses. She said nothing else but stared and just watched the girls, a sickening look on her maw.
(Luisa, is Scruffy her daughter like on DWOW and in my TLK canon? Just curious, we can do it either way ^^)

((Sure, lets make Scruffy her daughter. It sounds rather interesting to me :3))
Scruffy found herself surprised as they were suddenly surrounded by other lionesses. "Well, wrestling with a croc would sure be easier than arguing with Zira." Scruffy stated with a chuckle, deciding to get herself confortable and laying down on the floor. "I don't know what's got into her. I've heard from other lioness that she wasn't as vicious and cruel when younger." The lioness stated, before turning her head to Sly-Eye "Oh, hey mother." She greeted the eldest lioness cassualy, stretching out her limbs to relax her muscles.
"Well, no food would be a serious problem. We are a big sized pride, and if there is not enough food to keep us alive... I don't even wanna talk about it."

"The Great Kings forbid there not be enough food for the chosen one." Chippy said with a roll of her eyes. She knew Zira wouldn't be that pleased about the lack of food, but not so much concerned about them. No, it was all about her precious heir Kovu. Not that the young lioness bore and grudges toward Kovu. She didn't. Chippy just didn't think there needed to be so much pressure on a young cub like him. A soft groan escaped Chippy as she put her paws under her muzzle. The day had started out so nicely, too. Why couldn't she have gone on the hunt instead of training?
"At this point, I'd be willing to put up with anything if it meant not having to deal with an angry Zira." Chippy said. Of course she did respect Zira. It must have been difficult leading a pride. She just didn't like how she went about it some of the time. "Like... flying crocodiles." Chippy said.

Another pair of dark-brown eyes watched the gathering of her fellow lionesses, but their owner seemed disinclined to make any move to join them. Instead, she simply pawed at the ground where she stood, scraping it with her claws in the motion that had given her her name. It was only after making a considerable indent in the ground and seemingly not finding the food she was undoubtedly after that Digger rose from her crouch and padded towards her sisters-in-exile.
Just in time to catch the tail end of some comment about flying crocodiles. Giving an incredulous stare, the lioness (who was reasonably young, but still older than Prince Nuka, Dotty and Chippy) gave the one responsible for the comment a somewhat-gentle swat around the head with her paw. "Keep your mind in this reality." she snorted, resuming her pawing at the ground for a moment, before looking around at her fellow felines. "Flights of fantasy like that don't achieve anything." Even though she'd missed the context of the flying crocodiles comment, Digger was sure that it couldn't have a basis in any sensible line of conversation.

Chippy glanced up to see who had spoken, only to see Digger approaching them. The doofy lioness offered a sheepish sort of look and laughed softly. "Okay, so maybe flying crocodiles won't happen. I'm just saying that Zira isn't exactly the easiest lioness to deal with. You know?" Chippy asked. What were she and the others supposed to do? Hope that Kovu did become like his mother wanted him to and take over the Pridelands? That seemed rather unlikely, but what other choice did they have? The lioness with the chipped tooth shrugged her shoulders a bit and tried to make herself a bit more comfortable on the rough, hardened terrain. It didn't matter, anyway. They were just going to have to put up with what they were dealt.
"She could at least try to understand we're doing our best." Chippy observed. It wasn't their fault there wasn't enough food in the Outlands. What did she want them to do? Poach from the Pridelands and really get themselves in trouble?

"The day that Zira becomes understanding is the day Simba lets us all back into the Pridelands. Never." Dotty huffed, rolling onto her other side to face Chippy and the others"You know, I think this whole plan she has with Kovu is a little...ambitious. I mean, the cub's traumatised if he's asked to hurt a fly."
Dotty glanced in the direction of the termite mounds, whilst she couldn't see Kovu wanting to become a ruthless killer...it was either that or staying here until they all died of old age or starvation, she was putting her bets on the latter. Zira trained the little cub from dawn 'til dusk yet Kovu still didn't seem to be improving very much.
"Just sayin'." Dotty added glancing at Sly-Eye.

(I hope it's okay if I make Beauty-Spot a bit vain ^^) Another lioness padded over to the group. She had just been cleaning her fur by the river shortly after she came back from the hunt. She slid on her stomach and looked at her friends. "Hello girlies." she greeted, still fussing with her fur.

Spotty nodded in both aggravation and agreement at what her sister had said. Zira would never take focus off of Kovu, she would never realize that her lionesses were trying their hardest to support what little of a pride there was. And the poor cub was scared to try and fight anything that came his way- whether it be his "brother" Nuka or even a little mouse.
"The plan is both ambitious and downright ridiculous," Spotty remarked. "She's scaring the brat out of his wits, she thinks she'll be able to get it all... I can honestly see this 'plan' of hers crashing and burning real quick. It's not gonna work if Kovu keeps acting like a coward."
At the sound of another, more feminine voice, the lioness's crimson optics rose up to match the gaze of the most vain lioness in the pride: Beauty-Spot. She gave a warm nod, inviting her. "Hi, Beauty-Spot. What's goin' on?" She let out another huge yawn, resting her head near Dotty's leg.

"BAH!" Sly-Eye, the eldest and arguably the wisest of them all, padded around the group of girls. Oh yes, she agreed. Zira's plan was stupid, dumb if Kovu continued acting scared and soft. If they were to do anything the cub needed to learn how to work. Heavily accented voice spoke up again. "Ya all a bunch a' weak minded gals. Zira is our queen. We must do what she says or fear her wrath. Ya undastand?" She moved towards her daughter and lie next to her. She began grooming the younger lioness, licking her ear as if she was a cub.
"Ya need ta learn ta respect yer elders," she said, licking the back of her daughter's head.
(Hope ya don't mind the bath Luisa ^^'')

(Naw, I find it funny and sort of cute, it is okay XD)
"Well, my mother does make a point." Scruffy stated while being groomed, "Zira's plan may be ridiculous, but she's our queen. Scar chose her for a reason, even if the reason is beyond us. A pride mus always support its kings or queens." The lioness said, tail swishing behind her as Sly-Eye bathed her. She was a bit old for a bath, but it always felt nice to have soemone clean your fur in this dusty terrain, and who knows better than a mother when it comes to grooming? Scruffy, instead of fighting her mother aout how ridiculous she looked, just relaxed and let her clean her own fur.
