"ACK!"
Vanellope quickly ducked behind her makeshift fort again as soon as the snowballs started flying her way. Man, this Jack guy was good! Really good. Vanellope was quite glad to have found someone that was as good as lobbing snowballs as he was. If she ever got picked on during the winter and he was around, boy the other kids in her class would be in trouble. They'd never see what was coming!
Now Vanellope was in a bit of a bind, though. With so many snowballs coming her way she couldn't get a decent shot of her own in. This was proving to be quite difficult for her to cope with as she had hoped to try and dominate the white-haired older boy. As it turned out, though, it was her that would probably be dominated if she didn't do something. Think, Vanilie, think. Vanellope thought. Brown eyes darted about as she looked for some kind of shield to use so she wouldn't have to hide the entire time. Then, she spotted it. A garbage can lid. It was a stretch, but maybe she could grab it before getting hit again.
"BANZAI!" Vanellope exclaimed. She rolled out from behind her makeshift snowfort and made a mad dash for the lid, just barely avoiding getting hit in the process, and finally made a grab for her new shield. Once it was safely in her hands, though, she realized she was vulnerable still. So Vanellope brought the lid out in front of her to protect herself while she thought of a new plan. There had to be something she could do to turn the tide of battle.

Jack smiled, so the kid did have some strategy in mind. And she was fun too, good. She wasn't one of those nerdy types. Picking up another snowball, he threw it at her. "A shield, can't hold you forever!" he replied

"Maybe not, but it can do... this!"
Vanellope had finally thought of an idea. She scooped up some more snow and made another snowball, but she didn't throw it right away. Instead she held on to it tightly and ran forward, still using the lid as a shield as she ran toward the snow she'd been hiding behind before. Vanellope didn't know how well the plan would actually work, but it was something. As she got closer to the makeshift snow fort, she placed the trashcan lid on top of it and got onto it. It wasn't long before it started to slide forward, and with the momentum provided Vanellope decided to launch a counter attack as she started to slide toward the snow below.
"Think you can hit a moving target?" Vanellope asked. Without waiting for a response, Vanellope chucked her snowball at Jack and gave a little whoop regardless of whether or not it hit. She was sledding! It wasn't a real sled, obviously, but it counted!

At this Jack's eyes lit up, "I don't know about that, but now you made this interesting." he jumped into the air, flying after her, deciding having made yet another snowball he flew after her. Aiming for another target, however all the while, he decided to give her a little more fun by making more twists and turns on the ice for her to sled on.

Although it wasn't sledding in the traditional sense of going down a steep hill and making others eat the snow that blazed behind the sledder, Vanellope was still having fun. The most fun she had ever had during a snow day, in all actuality. Snow was flying behind her as she bobbed along across the sidewalk and she couldn't help but laugh giddily. It never seemed more appropriate to sing than it did right then. Unfortunately, Vanellope refused to attempt to warble right then. She didn't want to get made fun of for her likely amusing attempts at singing.
Suddenly, she found that her garbage can lid had gone off the snow and was headed toward a drier patch. That was quickly remedied by the fact that a patch of ice appeared before her. The lid slid across it and Vanellope found herself sliding by at a somewhat faster rate.
"WHOOO! This is AWESOME!" Vanellope exclaimed.

"Alright!" Jack cheered along with her, continuing to make ice on the ground, along with twists and turns in the road for her to sled down. He would have made a loop-de-loop but he didn't want to get that extreme just yet. "You ready for a real ride Kid?"

"Heck yeah!" Vanellope replied. The lid had slowed down a bit by that point, so Vanellope brought her leg out to the side and, as it slid a bit closer to a fire hydrant that was close by, she kicked off of it and projected herself across the rest of the ice that had been created. She held tight with both hands and pretended for a moment that she was in a racing kart, zipping and dodging obstacles that were invisible or something to that degree as she slid onward.
"BEST. SNOW DAY. EVER!" she exclaimed. By that point it didn't really need to be said, but she felt it was necessary at the same time. In any case, it was obvious she was having fun. The day which she thought would be relatively boring turned out to be fun because, in her mind, she had made a new friend. On top of that she was loving every minute of the events befalling her. First a snowball fight and then an impromptu sled ride with a makeshift sled. What more could she ask for?
Instead of an answer to that question, Vanellope got a different answer. Her makeshift sled had skidded off the ice and was bumping along the regular sidewalk at long last. This sent her right toward a snowbank, and after hitting a particularly wide crack in the sidewalk she was ejected from the garbage can lid and landed face first in the snow. Prior to falling in the snow she let a little yelp escape her, and that was followed by the crunchy sound of her hitting the snow. Fortunately, she was okay. Vanellope pushed herself out of the snowbank and back to her feet and proceeded to shake snow off of her face.
"Okay... aside from working out a few kinks in that mode of transportation, I think we've got ourselves a fun little activiteeeeEEE! COLD!" Vanellope yelped. She had just been hit by the sensation of snow that had fallen into her hoodie going down her neck, and it was making her freak out a little bit. It was also probably fairly amusing to witness.
