Boop, I am here again ;3 I am warning you.. TEXT WALL!
Overall the trip was a fun and new experience that I overall enjoyed. I really liked taking both of the plane rides (Columbus to Atlanta and Atlanta to New Orleans) because on the first of the two, the backs of the seats had MINI TV'S on them... and they were touch screen
so they made the flight go quicker. But on the 2nd flight (Atlanta to New Orleans) I just mostly napped.
When we got there we did quite a few things. Mostly consisting of walking around, looking around, taking pictures, ya know.. typical tourist stuff. We even took the Trolly (sp?) a couple times, which was fun. Though the first time we rode it was overcrowded so we had to stand.. and hold the seat next to us to keep from falling. But the times after that it was enjoyable
we looked around the Warehouse District, Garden District, and the French Quarter.
And our main event was the Haunted Ghost tour on Monday, which was REALLY cool. You guys think hearing ghost stories off of the tv is scary? Try listening to it being told to you IN PERSON and DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE HAUNTED LOCATION. We had about 5-6 stories told, and places to visit. Though the one that gave me the most nightmares was.. the story of Delphine LaLaurie (you can read about it here
www.neworleansghosts.com/haunted_new_orleans.htm ). And it was at night, so we were.. standing in front of her big mansion that apparently, Johnny Depp bought in 2009ish XD but it's still REALLY spooky.
There were also several smaller stories, like the Andrew Jackson Hotel, Pirate's Alley, and the Pirate's Tavern (which we actually got to go in for a few minutes) and take some pics. And I managed to get a couple pics of spirit (ghost) orbs floating around, though they're kinda tiny, maybe I'll upload them later. Before the tour though we had to meet up at a voodoo shop where I...
bought my very own voodoo doll they're not all used for evil purposes, the one I bought is used for Protection ;3 I just wish I could remember more about the tour, but it was a REALLY thrilling experience.. even though we didn't get to see any ghosts.
Aside from that we did some window shopping and looking around. Along with trying some new food
but I learned a few things from this trip..
*Nemo does not like Gumbo (and I was excited for it to D: )
*Beignets are so delicious (fried dough with powdered sugar all over, epic)
*Fried alligator is freaking awesome
*Bread Pudding is yummy
*The city life is not for me
*My acne REALLY acts up whenever I'm flying for some reason (ttly weird yes lol)
Though our last day started out "meh" but got REALLY fun towards the end. At first we took The Algiers Ferry across the Mississippi River to Algiers Point. Even though we had only been out walking for an hour there, EVERYONE was sweating head to toe, it was ridiculously hot! And everyday up until that day (Tuesday) it had rained some.
But after we got back to our Hotel since everyone was tired.. my dad got the idea to see the new Harry Potter movie in 3D, so we went.. but we were REALLY surprised with the movie theater. As soon as we all left for our seats (which we reserved via touch screen at the front desk) people handed us DINNER menus, forks, and napkins. We were all like "wtf is going on here?!" So when we sat down in our theater... we had...
SERVERS
that took our orders for food. And it wasn't just popcorn/hotdogs/etc... they had PIZZA, salads, paninis, and really fancy gourmet food!
Plus the seats rocked back, were REALLY huge, and had a table that slid out from the armrest (which you had to share with the person next to you). And on the armrest was a red button that we could push whenever we wanted.. to call our server back 83 Me and my sister sat in a row together, we just shared a large popcorn and an Italian Cookie plate.
Overall things were REALLY cool on this trip. However we had some minor problems. Like the fact I had to share a bed with my sister >> (hello, I'm 6' tall!) and she's a close 5'7"... plus the bed was double size, aka.. NOT very big at all. Especially when the 6' tall girl has the largest human skeletal frame possible. And she almost pushed me off several times.. every single night *twitch*. That, and I just mostly wanted some privacy, but couldn't get any
But I basically just got back and wanted to share this.. yep yep x3
