I'm not trying to flame anyone, But I just don't understand why everyone is obsessing over My Little Pony. I was watching my little cousins watch it a couple days ago and it was just really cheesy to me. I know it's a show meant for 5 year olds, but just seeing 20 year old men liking it... Kinda disturbs me. ._. I'm sorry, it just really annoys me. Especially the 'bronies', whatever the hell that is. I'm sure there are others that agree with me.. >> I hope.

Honestly, I do like the show, but I don't entirely get the hype it has either. ^^; It's really silly how popular it is. With me, I'd probably like it anyway even without the hype. XDDDDD But yeah. I don't really get it either.

@mo - Sorry if I'm kinda forcing this on you, I was trying to avoid seeming like doing that. ^ ^" i'm fine with people liking it, because it's understandable. I just don't understand why adults like it... And why some people take it so seriously. ._.

Noooooo, you're not forcing it on me at all! Like I said, I don't understand that either. It's cool if they like it, all power to them, but the fandom's now up two Twitard and Bibertard levels. And that's saying a lot, considering the kind of fandoms I've encountered. XD

lol you could call those uber fans Ponytards. xD I like the show myself for its originality and creativity, and how the producer of the show managed to modernize it perfectly for this day and time. I'll always love the older shows because I watched them as a child, but the new show is pretty good. ^^ it feels to me like it has real heart put into it, unlike some of this other children's show crap you see on anymore.

I never got into this fandom, largly due to a personal bias I have against the most recent generations of ponies.
I grew up with characters like Ivy, Skyskimmer, LightHeart and Sundance. I'm used to the ponies looking a certain way and it's just hard for me to see this huge crazye over something that is yet isn't what I loved as a child. There was no show for that particular generation (at least to my knowledge) bur j had several toys and even a PC game. I dunno. I just don't feel like today's ponies are truly "My little ponies" but again, I'm biased.

Frankly, the reason I adore it is because the show finally has alicorns.

@tex- Now that you put it that way, Tex, I think the reason people embraced it could be that they didn't like the previous generations of ponies, and found this a sort of saving grace from the typical sugary-saccharine sort of thing that the last generations seemed to be. I know I was never really into MLP myself. I did have a game of it, and maybe owned a toy or two at one point. But idk. Just my two cents. XD

It's just a cute show with likable characters to me. Not that I have anything against the older My Little Pony shows, I do like stuff like My Little Pony Tales all right, I just like that Friendship is Magic seems to have a lot of heart in it. I dunno, maybe that's just me.

I am a 28 year old guy and I still really like the show. Don't ask me why I like this show but I just really do. But, I really am not obsessed with it. I really can't describe why I like it I just do. Asking me the question of "Why do I love MLP FIM" is like asking me "Why I like Disney/animated movies Etc.etc.etc." I just can't give a reason other then it's just something I enjoy. Speaking of that I still have to make that MLP FIM roleplay board. What exactly is a "Brony" anyway?*Hopes he isn't one*

Well I'm glad somebody brought this up, because.....I'M A BRONY!!! xDDD As for those of you who don't know what a Brony is it's a teenage or adult male who is a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Being a Brony myself, I have to say, I'm really enjoying being a part of the wonderful community, if it weren't for Lauren Faust, I wouldn't have discovered the new meaning of cartoons. Basically Bronies don't only obsess over the MLP thing....okay, maybe they do a little, but Lauren Faust surprisingly and actually really loves it that there are older fans of the new Pony series, mainly because she feels appreciated that so many people love her show and that they can be open-minded and aren't afraid to show their true colors. She even has her own DA page where she talks to fans, not only that, but the creators of this series actually Acknowledge the fans and even add elements that the fans created into the show, I mean....how cool is that?! Even though the fanbase DID start on 4Chan, it's kind of pretty awesome how someone can make a show that everyone can enjoy....even though it is for little girls! With that said, I am proud of Lauren Faust and all the dedication and hard work she has put forth to making an awesome series, and I do hope that the great and wonderful community of Bronies lives on and spreads the magic of Friendship, Love and Tolerance everywhere! Rock on Fellow Bronies!!! *BROHOOF!*

I agree with Phantom. At first, I told myself I'd never like the show, but sooner or later, I started to get into it. It just has likeable characters, in my opinion, and it has a lot of heart. c:

XD;; I can't get into it as I said....sadly my favorite era was G2 which, as you said, Mo, was not very popular in the US.
Actually, you guys should REALLY check out the MLP wikipedia page. There's a LOT of cool info (if y'all don't know it already) about the different generations...I want the G2 Greek Pony XD;;
