Okay, posting once again in regards to my Pony AU. I've taken a break from trying to develop what I'm going to do with the Mane Six and instead, I'm taking a different approach. I'll be showing my side of my universe with Ditzy Doo. Be warned, it's extremely long, but here we go.
Ditzy DooI'm not entirely sure if you guys have read "Bubbles" or not, but my story with Ditzy is partially based around that.
Ditzy lives in a household with her mother, her father, and two sisters- Flutter Doo and the newborn Ginger Doo. Ditzy was born with several problems; her eyesight is impaired and she can't see well sometimes, and she has a bit of a mobility problem and has a bit of trouble walking and flying, which relates to her clumsiness. It's like minor polio
I think her mother is going to be a unicorn or an earth pony (can't decide but she doesn't have wings), and her father is a pegasus. Her father works at the weather factory in Cloudsdale, with hopes to one day move there, and her mother works part-time at... somewhere. Somewhere where her unicorn powers are put to use. The mother has fallen into a state of depression and stress, and has gone back to her old drug and alcohol habit to keep herself afloat, and takes stress relievers every so often to try and stay upbeat. This has led to some bad decisions on her part.
The mother ultimately despises Ditzy; she feels as if she's a disgrace to the family because she was born impaired, and favors Flutter and Ginger over her (even though she doesn't give
as much attention to them, but still). Her father thinks otherwise, and he wants to teach her how to fly, something that is nearly impossible. In vain attempts to try and rid of Ditzy, she starts doing nice mother-daughter bonding activities with her; playing with her, baking muffins together... but there are selfish goals behind these actions. One day, the mother gives up the act, and poisons the muffins that she gives to Ditzy. Luckily enough the father arrives just in time to realize that something is wrong with her and immediately takes her to the hospital. It's here that the problems between him and her start to arise, but it's not addressed directly just yet.
Then, a few days after the whole hospital episode, the mother has reached her breaking point. She forces Ditzy to get up extremely early one morning and takes her out, out up by the Everfree Forest (or mountains; still deciding) and abandons her there with a dish of bubble soap and a bag of muffins. This is where Ditzy gets her cutie mark; she wishes for her father to teach her to fly so she can float with the bubbles.
She eventually gets discovered by another pony; quite possibly the parents of Rainbow Dash. This is basically how they meet and bond; they've known each other since they were fillies. They're younger than the CMC, though, like just starting school younger. I assume that Rainbow would already be in flight school whereas they're prolonging Ditzy because they don't know where to put her. But they're evenly aged. Ditzy's dad finally comes to collect her after a giant argument and declaration of divorce with the mother. He takes her, Flutter, and newborn Ginger and they stay with family in Cloudsdale for a little while. It's there that he both meets his next wife and is informed of a special extended learning school for ponies in Canterlot. They would be able to teach Ditzy the basics of flight there since she would never be able to be a "full flyer".
As stated before, the father finds a girlfriend and winds up marrying her. They move into her house, and Flutter starts attending the flight school in Cloudsdale. Ditzy is taken down to the Ponyville Express every morning with her step-mother (who she is wary of at first but slowly accepts her as her new mom) and takes the train to Canterlot. There she is promptly put in the "special education" class- basically her, Screwball, and possibly Screw Loose. Ditzy is extremely offended by this and tries to reason, but her pleas are not heard and she's stuck in the class with two ponies crazier than she. She learns her academics and finds her own way of flying, but usually spends her days by herself, as she has no friends. Although she
does have a crush on a certain colt...
Enter Ponet- a well-to-do young unicorn colt who aspires to become a world-class artist and Ditzy's first love interest. I think he was originally going to be a jerk to her- calls her names, berates her, and is dared by his friends to ask her to their school dance. He asks her, and Ditzy is immediately overcome and joyfully responds yes. Even after the dance, she starts talking to him more often, runs the continual risk of hanging out with him in front of his upper-class friends, and eventually Ponet starts to return their friendship. She tells him of what happened, and how now she lives in Cloudsdale, and her step-mom is pregnant. Ponet tells her of his life story- about his sister Amethyst Star (the mare seen with Dinky Doo during the Sisterhooves Social) and how their father left them after he was born and about how his mother tries so hard to be there for them and raise them on her own. They bond between that, and just become better friends.
She learns of his artistic ambitions and how he hopes to one day become successful. In turn, out of the kindness of her heart, she draws him a picture of him, but it comes out looking about as bad as you'd expect. But with that, Ditzy gives him another thing- her confession to him about her feelings. This sends mass panic through Ponet. He takes the picture and leaves, and has no idea what to do. He realized that Ditzy's been his muse, his love, and while his friends were outright jerks to him he stuck by her and shouldn't have treated her badly before. He finds that he too has feelings for her- feelings that he should have told her about a long time ago. He notices a small detail on the picture- what appears to be a six-pronged star with a few smaller stars around it. And this is how Ponet gets his cutie mark.
He paints Ditzy and displays it, showing only one side of her to make her look relatively "normal" and pretty. Ditzy is overcome with joy, and Ponet makes his confession. The two begin to date. They go through school side-by-side; Ponet meets Ditzy's family, now including two new half-sisters Snowy and Kiki, and Ditzy meets Ponet's mom and Amethyst, who she also grows close to. Eventually they grow up, and get married. They find a cheap house in Fillydelphia- Ponet has a functioning artist job and Ditzy works as a mail-and-delivery mare for Boxxy Brown. Soon enough, though, Ditzy is pregnant with twin foals and leaves her job for a bit. She gives birth- one is a pegasus and another is a unicorn. Much to her disappointment yet slight optimism, the pegasus foal is born with the same wall-eye condition that she has, which would make it easier for Ditzy to teach the foal how to fly. The pegasus is named Lilly "Lil" Doo and the unicorn is named Dinky Doo.
But as time goes on, problems start to arise. Ponet starts to have more doubts about being a father. He battles with more emotions- he's unsure what to do, unsure if he even loves Ditzy anymore. He sometimes spends his nights just going out to high-class restaurants in Canterlot or artsy cafes in Manehatten by himself. He meets another pegasus known as Lighting Bolt, a mare that used to work with Ditzy before she went on maternity leave. Ponet starts leaning on her as emotional support, and eventually, Lightning and Ponet start going out on their own behind Ditzy's back. Ponet fesses up and leaves Ditzy in charge of the children. Just like his father.
Ditzy is once again heartbroken and unsure of what to do. She goes into a bit of a shock at this point; she doesn't know what to do, she doesn't know how things are going to work out, and initially, she's
scared. After a little while, she sells the house in Fillydelphia, moves to Ponyville, and starts sending Dinky and Lil' to the local school there, which is where they meet the CMC. Ditzy goes back to work, helping out Boxxy with deliveries and such. This is where she meets her second boyfriend.
A combined meeting of serviceponies was held to assign who to what and to introduce everypony to one another. Ditzy meets an earth pony known as Post Haste- he's very dedicated to his work of delivering mail and while a bit blunt at times, is still a kind-hearted, sometimes childish, soul. He and Ditzy start to talk, Ditzy tells of everything that had happened, and the two slowly move into a relationship. They don't officially get married but that's heavy subject to change.
Something noticeable between all of the Doo sisters is that they all share the same cutie mark- seven bubbles. There are different reasons for each:
-Flutter: Ambitious to fly free like a bubble
-Ditzy: Wants to float with the bubbles and learn to fly
-Ginger: Has a bubbly personality
-Snowy: Is frail and sensitive and easy-to-pop like a bubble
-Kiki: "Floats" freely and without a care like a bubble
Also, this is what happens with the rest of the sisters:
-Flutter: Eventually aces flight school. Ambitious and motherly, gains a boyfriend sometime later on (possibly a Wonderbolt)
-Ginger: Still in school, sort of a popular girl with an on-again-off-again love interest
-Snowy: Shy, weak, and quiet girl. Writes poetry and songs and hopes to one day become a songwriter or singer instead of a flyer. Comparable to Violet Parr from The Incredibles
-Kiki: Rebellious, loudmouthed, brash, a stark contrast from Snowy. A bit tomboyish and a lesbian. I think I'm going to have her date a member of the Apple family.
WHEW that was a lot to type! I put a lot of hard work into it so I thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed it xD some parts still need to be worked out but that's the gist of it, basically.
