So, this is probably my most developed of my Disney dog AUs. Probably nowhere near as developed as Tex's angstverse or anything like that, but I like how it's coming along. Any feedback on it would be much appreciated at this point. I'd love to see what you guys think of it.
Anyway, we'll start with the background info regarding the parents of the universe.
First off, Rebecca. She ends up being left behind when DeVil Ville vanishes and tags along with Lucky and co back to the farm. Instead of being a shy little thing after getting over the initial culture shock, though, Rebecca takes her place as a sort of adventurer with Lucky and co. Over time, despite the fact that Lucky and Rebecca do butt heads when it comes to determining who really is the leader of the group, Lucky really does fall for Rebecca and, in term, she starts to fall for him. They don't end up really getting together for quite a long time, though, mainly due to how much of a jerk Lucky is and the squabbles that occur between them as they contend for the position of leader. Over time, though, they do eventually really fall in love.
Cadpig, having gotten over her brief crush on Mooch, has moved on by that point and feels like maybe she isn't ready for romance. She mainly spends her time continuing to hang out with Lucky, Rolly, Spot, and Rebecca and acts as a sort of peacekeeper between Rebecca and Lucky when she can. Eventually, she grows into quite the psychological-minded female and settles into that position on the farm. Cadpig offers any advice and counseling she can to her brothers and sisters, along with other animals living on the farm, and for a while things go well for her. Then something she never expected to occur happens to Tripod.
Tripod, for all his life on the farm, had essentially been pushing away the relationships of the other dalmatians in an attempt to keep himself safe. Ever since the harsh beginning of life he had to deal with involving his biological parents and siblings, he felt that he needed to prove himself to the world more than anything else. He built up a reputation as being the most athletic pup on the farm, and in so doing Tripod succeeded in making himself out to be a no fun stick-in-the-mud who only enjoyed working to make himself better. For a time he did feel a tiny bit jealous of Mooch when he was dating Cadpig, but as soon as their relationship died down it seemed that everything returned to normal.
Cut to their adult years and Tripod is doing fine. He's never been happier and everything seems to be going according to plan. Then, one day, an unexpected visitor comes to the farm. It turns out to be one of Tripod's older brothers, Smokey, and he's not come to make amends with his brother. It turns out that Smokey really hasn't changed all that much since puppyhood. If anything, he's more of a jerk than before. An uncomfortable reunion occurs between Tripod and Smokey, and Smokey wastes no time doing everything within his power to break Tripod down. Slowly but surely, Smokey begins to succeed. Tripod's insecurities begin to resurface and finally, in a desperate attempt to prove his brother wrong, Tripod asks his brother to race him. It's not just any race, though. Lt. Pug goes to the trouble of making it a complicated obstacle course as well as a race (see An Officer and a Gentledog to get the basic gist of it).
When the race starts, Tripod does well. He isn't overly confident in his abilities, but he's confident enough that he can prove to his older brother once and for all that he's not as worthless as he thinks he is. Ultimately, though, as the race draws to its conclusion things go badly. Tripod loses his footing during the final stretch when he's climbing up to where the finish line would be, and as a result of the fall he injures one of his back legs. Smokey ultimately wins the race, and as if Tripod isn't feeling low enough he takes the opportunity to really make his brother feel miserable. He essentially breaks Tripod down to the lowest emotional point before finally leaving the farm.
Now, who should come along to help Tripod during the healing process of his leg? Cadpig, of course. She takes it upon herself to stick with Tripod and help build him up emotionally again. Like Lucky and Rebecca's relationship, they don't rush things. Cadpig knows Tripod isn't in any state to really become involved in a romantic relationship, but she develops a close bond with him as she helps him regain his confidence and builds him up again. Over time, once Tripod has healed completely both physically and emotionally, the two of them begin to explore how they feel emotionally. Finally, some time after Lucky and Rebecca start a family of their own, Cadpig and Tripod finally settle how they feel about each other and their relationship becomes more serious.
While all of this is going on, Rolly and Spot are essentially left to their own devices. They still spend some time with Lucky, Rebecca, and Cadpig, but mainly the two of them are on their own. They grow closer as friends during that time and act as support for the other if they're feeling low. Eventually, though, things begin to change around the farm. A family who owns a young Cocker Spaniel named Danielle eventually moves in not far from the farm, and Danielle begins to frequent the farm. She starts to spend time with Rolly, though the chubby dalmatian lacks confidence and he's convinced she wouldn't have any interest in a doof like him. One night, though, Danielle catches Rolly stuffing his face with some of her favorite food. From there, they begin to bond. They don't take quite as long as Tripod and Cadpig did to figure out that they love one another, though.
Meanwhile, Spot eventually discovers that her mother (I've honestly forgotten her name) has invited a young rooster to stay with them. This rooster, Charles, meets Spot and... well, neither of them is sure what to think of the other. Spot isn't comfortable around chickens and Charles doesn't know what to make of her ambition to be more like a dog. Over time, though, they do begin to see eye to eye and, since Spot has long since gotten over her brief crush she had on Lucky, they eventually do settle down together.
Mooch sticks around on the farm, as does Wizzer, but Dipstick and Two-Tone go down different paths. Dipstick is eventually adopted by a young woman who owns a dalmatian named Dottie, and after that he leaves the farm. It isn't until a lot later that Mooch and Wizzer even see Dipstick again, and by that point the doofy dal has pups of his own.
Two-Tone, on the other hand, tires of being on the farm. Truthfully, she never felt at home on the farm at all. She'd always been more of a town or city girl. So, one night, she decides to leave the farm. She never tells anyone where she's going or why, but before anyone can even blink Two-Tone is gone. She ends up encountering a handsome rottwieler/doberman mix named Buster during her travels. One thing leads to another, and before long she finds herself enamored by him and he finds himself attracted to her. She, like Dipstick, doesn't go back to the farm. Unlike Dipstick, though, Two-Tone decides not to return. She likes her new life with Buster too much to leave.
Finally, Patches. He's the least developed of any of the 'main' dalmatians, but he ends up with Pepper. Mooch doesn't end up with anyone at this point, nor does Wizzer.
So, this would approximately be the order in which the main kids are born:
Tracy and Bianca (Lucky and Rebecca's daughters, born some time in September)
Flynn and Alvin (Buster and Two-Tone's sons, born in November)
Mousse (Rolly and Danielle's son, born in December)
Oddball, Domino, and Little Dipper (Dipstick and Dottie's daughter and sons, born in February)
Camellia (Charles and Spot's daughter, born in February)
Ash, Soot, and Dusty (Patches and Pepper's son and daughters, born in April)
Trigger and Luke (Tripod and Cadpig's sons, born in May)
Other noteworthy main characters:
Corbin - Flynn and Alvin's labrador best friend
Blitz - The border collie best friend of Trigger, Luke, Camellia, and Mousse. Rolly's adopted son.
NOW we move on to the main plot, which takes place roughly a month after Trigger and Luke's initial birth.
The kids are living a normal life on the farm. It's peaceful, quiet, and otherwise uneventful. That is, until trouble starts stirring up for Lucky's family. The problem is that his daughter, Bianca, is interested in pursuing a boyfriend. Her parents, on the other paw, aren't about to deal with these shenanigans. It's not even that the male pups on the farm find her attractive or anything. If anything, Bianca is bored by the boys on the farm and wants to see if she can find anyone else beyond the confines of home. Well, eventually it is decided that if Tracy can't get a date, then Bianca won't be allowed to date. Bianca finds this unfair, but Tracy (who is absolutely uninterested in finding a date at all) couldn't care less.
Meanwhile, Trigger and friends are deciding that maybe they should go exploring beyond the farm. They're convinced it will just be a quick trip, despite Camellia's advice not to go at all, and want to see what they can see. Somehow, Bianca convinces them to allow her and Tracy to go along with them. So, a trip is planned and they quickly go on their way.
In the junkyard, unaware that the farm pups exist at all, live the trio of Flynn, Alvin, and their good friend Corbin. Flynn and Alvin, the sons of Two-Tone and Buster, are essentially the princes of the junkyard and quite content to not know what exists beyond the town they live in. One day, though, they grow bored and Flynn decides that they should go on a walk about town. Alvin and Corbin agree to this idea, and so they go on their way. Coincidentally, this is the exact same day that Trigger and co arrive. Bianca and Tracy eventually split off from the rest of the group, and Corbin breaks away from Flynn and Alvin, and eventually the Lebecca pups meet the Bustone pups.
Initially, Flynn and Alvin are both irritated by the very fact that two house dogs are bothering them at all. Flynn tries to tell them to leave, but Bianca won't have any of it (much to Tracy's surprise). The two girls eventually convince Flynn and Alvin that they should stay, and Flynn agrees to let them hang around. Once the day ends and the girls meet up with Trigger and co again, who ended up encountering Corbin, they all go home for the day. Alvin complains to Flynn that they had to spend the day with house dogs, but Flynn seems strangely quiet. He ends up thinking about Bianca quite a bit after she leaves, and it appears that maybe the junkyard prince might have taken a liking to the heart-spotted lass.
Flynn and Bianca begin making excuses to get away from their respective homes, and they begin meeting each other in secret. Tracy soon decides to go after her sister while Alvin and Corbin decide to tail their friend/brother, and soon enough Alvin and Tracy begin to unintentionally run into each other more than once. Unlike Flynn and Bianca, though, Alvin and Tracy can't stand one another. Or it appears that way on both ends, at any rate. One night, Alvin confides in Corbin that maybe he does have some feelings for Tracy. Thus, he sets out to try and tame Tracy so that she's not quite as coarse as before. All the while, Tracy intends to whip Alvin into shape so that he's not a completely unrefined junkyard dog anymore.
And that's pretty much all I have for the main story at the moment. I think at some point Trigger and co will try to help the two couples get together, but that part's a bit sketchy at the moment. ^^;
