{Another private roleplay for me and my sis; this one set in our anthroverse setting} Partner as Nova Mo as Milo
Nova tore down the school corridors, diving between students both older and younger than her, elbowing and shoving her way through, occasionally sending someone sprawling by mistake, but the girl with the superhero complex hardly stopped to notice. She had a goal in mind, one she'd spent most of the day thinking of, and now that the school day had ended, she was determined to put her plan into action. Unusually, for her, this particular plan didn't have anything to do with rooting out evil or saving the day or anything along those lines; this was, for lack of a better term, something more personal. After a few more moments, Nova flattened herself against the wall to glance back over her shoulder. She had managed to ditch Scout and Poker, she noticed with relief - hate and love her two brothers, respectively, as she did, she didn't want either of them sticking around her today. When a couple of moments more didn't reveal them, Nova continued on her way, rounding a corner and disappearing up the stairway leading to the old science classrooms. This particular area was deserted; it only led to the two rooms in question, and despite it being the end of the school day, the Colonel seemed to have forgotten that meant he could let his students leave. She'd been counting on that, in fact; that meant the person she was after would still be in the classroom. Nova settled against the wall at the top of the stairs to wait, tugging at her uncomfortably-tight tie once again. She'd tried wearing the thing loose once, but both dad and Poker had made known their silent disapproval of that; something Nova didn't like being on the recieving end of, so from then on she'd just suffered the discomfort anyway.
Restlessly, the girl began to kick one heel back against the wall behind her, the blows varrying in forcefullness each time. Surely Milo had to be coming out soon... she couldn't let her attention wane too far or she'd miss him, for the neurotic pup would probably do his best to avoid her if he saw her before she noticed him.

Finally this class was getting out, and oh was Milo relieved. Today had been a lab, brought up very suddenly, and he hadn't taken the nessesary precautions to properly shield himself from whatever sort of materials they would be working with beforehad. ...Granted, he hadn't got any of the chemicals they were working with on him in the first place as-- much to his partner's annoyance-- he was painstakingly, neurotically careful in his work, and by the time the rest of the class had finished he was barely halfway done, causing his partner to have to take over and quickly finish it up so they wouldn't have to stay after school... which, of course, had failed. Milo, however, was still so horribly nervous he'd gotten particles of the chemicals in his fur he was now wahsing his face thoroughly in the sink on the side of the room. Several times. Vigorously. Everyone had already left but Milo did not want to take the chance that he would somehow damage his system because he didn't wash himself properly. Neurotic boy was neurotic, but he didn't think of it that way... just extremely careful was all. Finally he deemed himself clean enough to enter the outside world again. He shook himself dry and brushed down the fur that had stuck up as a result, rolled down his sleeves that had been rolled up during the lab, and opened the door out into the hall (sleeve on the handle, of course, who KNOWS where the paws of the people who had touched it had been!). And the moment he rounded the corner, he saw someone he did not expect to see around here. "GAH!" He backed up widly and slammed into the opposite wall Nova was leaning on with a loud thud. "Ha-h-h-hi Nova..." he stuttered sheepishly, trying to regain his composure and brush the back of his shirt thoroughly (again, who knows who put their grimy paws on that wall). "W-w-what brings you to uh, uh... up here...?"

WELL. It was about time. The other dalmatian's facial fur looked a little damp, and Nova had to wonder how and why he'd achieved that. Probably thought he'd managed to catch some germ or other and been trying to wash it away, she wouldn't have been surprised; the male was so damned neurotic that it hurt to watch. That was pretty much what this was all about. The female was sure that all Milo needed was a bit more contact with the natural world - the dirty natural world - and he'd be just fine; and that, she'd decided, was her duty to oversee since no-one else seemed prepared to try.
"Hey Milo," she stated casually, before a moment later leaping forward, grabbing the male by the tie and dragging him back down the stairs after her by it hard enough to peanut the knot tight and ignoring any protests he might make. "Come on, I need to show you something," she called back over her shoulder, not letting up the pressure on Milo's tie as she forced her way back through the crowd with him in tow.

"Wh-GHHAACK!!" Before Milo could even get a word in edgewise, Nova had his tie in a death grip and was pulling him hard by it as she dashed back down the stairwell and through the halls. His knot was getting tighter and tighter, and he tried to tell her to let go but in-between running like a madman to keep up with the crazy girl so he didn't fall on his face and trying to keep his breathing steady in the meantime... he could only squeak and whine little bits of words that were nowhere close to coherent. People were staring as she barrel past them with him in tow and Milo almost wished his tie would just rip off from Nova's death grip so he could dart away, but no such luck... instead the knot was just ridiculously tight and pushed against his adam's apple painfully. Finally though, he managed to wheeze out a protest. "NOVA!! What are you DOING?? L-let go of my tie!"

Novakept going until she reached the end of the corridor, where she slammed into the automatic doors that never worked shoulder-first, sending a momentary flash of pain across her back as the impact shoved them open, and she dragged Milo out after her before stopping to make sure no-one who might interfere was around - Jon or Trent, Milo's 'babysitters' or her own brothers. Seeing none of them around, she stopped for a minuteto let the male catch his breath, but still not actually releasing his tie lest he try to run off.
"Trust me, this is for your own good," she reassured Milo, slapping his shoulder in a way that was meant to be reassuring but would probably just make things worse. She didn't give him time to try and do anythign about it, however. "Come on, keep up!" With another yank on his tie, she was leading - or more accurately, dragging - Milo down the driveway and off the school grounds. There was a wood nearby that would be PERFECT for her current purposes - and it was the opposite direction from the town, which most of the other students would head towards or through on their way out of school, meaning there weren't many others about to wonder about the sight of her pulling a crazily-neurotic year-older student up the road by the tie.

At long last, Nova had finally came to a halt and gave Milo a chance to catch his breath, however fleeting the moment was. However, she still kept a firm hold on his tie which bothered him immensely as the knot was now horribly tight and he couldn't untie it until she let go... "Nova, could you--" And then she clapped his shoulder with the reassurance that this was all "for his own good". Promptly he screeched with terror. WHY DID SHE HAVE TO TOUCH HIM?? Her paws had probably been a million dirty places that day and all the debris she may have picked up had now been slapped onto his shirt! The indignity of it all! What had he done to deserve this?! He wished Nova would just let go so he could run home as fast as his paws could take him, where he could take a long, hot shower and disinfect all his clothes so he wouldn't catch some sort of horrible disease... But unfortunately fate was not being nice to him. They were off again, Nova still pulling tight as ever on his tie as they kept running, and Milo honest-to-goodness was scared he would choke thanks to the pressure of the knot against his throat. And to top it all off, she was pulling him toward the woods behind the school, in the totally opposite direction of where he lived. The woods, of all places! A veritable powerhouse for all SORTS of viruses and bacteria and SO many ways to get injured or lost... the poor student nearly began to cry like a little baby at the mere thought. But he had no room to protest this. He would probably die from strangulation before he'd die of dysentery in those godforsaken woods.

Nova finally slowed a bit as she began to take notice of the strange choking noises that seemed to be coming from Milo's direction. The girl frowned, turning her head to take in her self-assigned charge, and seeing just how tightly screwed up the knot of the male's tie had become. She wasn't quite sure why this was proving so much of a problem for Milo; she dragged her own brother Poker in her wake in a similar way much more often, and he'd never indicated much trouble breathing as a result, so far as she'd noticed.
Still, she didn't want the older pup to suffocate before they reached their destination - she purposefully ignored the clear terror on the poor guy's face; this really WOULD be for his own good, if she could just get him there and show him that dirt and germs weren't so bad - so the mask-marked girl finally let go of Milo's tie. Before he would have time to bolt, however, the girl had circled around behind him, clamped a paws onto each of his shoulders, and begun propelling him forward from behind instead.
"We're almost there," she explained cheerfully, directing him across a road - which thankfully was clear, as she hadn't even thought to look before crossing - and up the footpath that led up into the woods.

"Oh, thank g- EEEEEEP!" Finally Nova had stopped trying to choke him to death and let go. But before he could dash off or even try to disentangle the knot, she took him by his shoulders and was now pushing him like a wheelbarrel toward the woods. Her paws. On his shirt. AGAIN. Helplessly he flailed his paws in an effort to shake her off but it was no use, she fully intented on pushing him into this gauntlet of pain and anguish. "Novaaaaaaaaa!" he whined to her. "I just want to go hooooomeeee!!!"

"Don't worry, you'll thank me later!" Switching her grip of one hand to the back of Milo's collar as they reached the gate that marked the entrance through the woods, using the other hand to lever the rusted thing open, and dragged Milo through it, finally letting her hold on him slacken, although still not release entirely, as the gate swung back closed. She doubted Milo would try to open it himself, since the old metal gate was rusty as hell, and even she wiped her hand that had touched it on her skirt just in case.
"Look, even you've got to admit your neur- neuro- neurotototoconess?" she shook her head, not bothering to try and correct the word she'd just mangled, and continued. "...is ridiculous. You've got to get used to this stuff," bending down, she scooped up a fistful of mud in her free hand, then let it drop back to the ground with a squelchy sort of noise. She wiped the residue of that on her skirt too. "It's not gonna hurt you, you know."

Milo shuddered when she opened that rusty old gate with her bare paws, thinking of how horrible it must have felt-- and SHE JUST WIPED IT ON HER SKIRT OH GOD. Milo's muscles tautened and he prepared for the worst. There was no escape from this crazy girl now, there was no way he was jumping the fence OR opening that horrid gate with his own paws. Milo made a gagging sort of sound in the back of his throat and cringed when she picked up the handful of mud and dropped it back to the ground so casually. He could not comprehend how this was not affecting her. She was a girl, right? Girls hated mud! But he knew very little about other people, much less the opposite sex, so he was pretty in the dark as far as that went. "I-It's not ridiculous," he countered, still in a cringe, staring at the mud like it would come alive and attack him. "I'm just being careful. Bad things happen when you're not careful." He pointed accusingly at the mud. "That stuff could have ANYTHING in it! Worms, parasites, harmful bacteria-- AND YOU JUST PICKED IT UP WITH YOUR BARE HANDS!!" Little did he know how serous Nova was in his mission, unfortunately for the poor neurotic boy.

Nova straightened, facing Milo with an expression of bewilderment on her face, head tilted slightly to one side and squinting at him. "You can't be serious," she finally replied, shaking her head, still wiping her hand against her skirt. "It's just mud - you've NEVER rolled in it just for the fun of it?" she shook her head, still not entirely comprehending how much worse Milo was than she'd predicted. "How close have you even ever got to this stuff? You've gotta know it's not gonna kill you."
She was, she had to admit, very, very tempted to shove a handful of the stuff in Milo's face just to prove her point, but for the moment, the girl held off. If reasoning with him didn't work, she could always resort to such tactics then, but right now Nova was almost hoping that just being around natural dirt in general would be enough to make the guy see sense. She prodded at the mud underfoot with one toe, dragging patterns through it to pass the time as she waited for Milo to respond, occasionally glancing back up at him for a moment or two.
"You're tie looks a mess. Maybe you ought to retie it?" she idly added at length, sounding for all the world that she was completely oblivious to the fact that she was responsible for just how tightly screwed up the male's tie had got in the first place.

Milo shook his head frantically at her question. "Oh HEAVENS no!" he explained indignantly. "I'd rather stay clean, without a bunch of crusty liquefied dirt sticking to my fur for an eternity!" He shuddered at the thought, rubbing his arms vigorously as if he were wiping off the incriminating mud. He then snorted again at her next question, and replied a little curtly, "Close enough to know that it's not something I'd care to play around with. Icky, gooey, frothy, disgusting stuff. And I know it won't kill me... it's what comes AFTER the mud that'll do me in." And finally he just gaped at her in disbelief when she pointed out how tight and wonky his knot had become. As if she hadn't even had a thing to do with it! He hesitated, trying to find the right words to say that weren't totally rude. "Mmmmm, probably," he muttered angrily at her, pulling at the neck to pull the thin end out. However, the knot had become so tight that pulling that end all the way through was a difficult task, and soon Milo was growling and snarling with the effort of trying to pull it out, to the point where he began to stumble around with the force of trying to untie his tie... and so engrossed was he in his endeavors that he didn't even notice he had headed straight toward a huge puddle of mud. His paws met the thick sludgy water and instantly he cried out in both surprise and anguish. He began splashing fruitlessly around the puddle in his attempts to escape the dirty clutches of the puddle, splashing it all over the bottoms of his pants in the process and soaking his back paws as well. He finally darted out and back onto the grass, pant cuffs dripping with water. He trembled with the leftover surprise and very quickly got the knot undone with a force he didn't even know he had. He stared at the puddle with wide, fearful eyes, as if it would travel toward him and swallow him into some sort of abyss.

Nova shook her head, growing a tad impatient with the pup before her. "All eternity...?" she echoed, sounding disbelieving. "All you have to do is take a bath afterwards and it's all gone! Why's that a problem? Or are you as scared of soap as you are of mud?" she snorted to herself at that concept - Milo was so paranoid she wouldn't put it past him anyway.
"Besides, it's not disgusting, it's just fun," she added, partly to herself as much as Milo as the male began to stagger around in a massive struggle to undo his tie. Maybe she had pulled on it just a little too hard, the girl considered, before quickly shrugging it off. He'd get it loose eventually, and she'd got Milo where he wanted him, so that was all that mattered. Idly, she poked at her own tie, wondering if she couldn't get away with slackening it off a bit while they were out here. Possibly she could... but it would still be wearing her tie low in a way she knew dad didn't approve of, so maybe better not to...
A splash jerked her head up, and Nova looked up to see Milo floundering up to his ankles in muddy water. Any considerations regarding her tie forgotten, Nova watched, making no effort to hide her amusement, as the older pup started freaking out, splashing mud in every direction before staggering out of the pool, looking horrified. The female chuckled at his mud-coated paws, before turning to face Milo fully. "See, that wasn't so bad," she commented, still grinning like an idiot. All she had to do was get him to admit that and she'd feel as though she'd accomplished something out here.

That wasn't so bad. THAT WASN'T SO BAD. THAT. WASN'T. SO.BAD?? Milo began to twitch. It started with an eyelid and he just glared at Nova in the most horrible way he knew how. The twitching eye may have given the opposite effect than intended, but it wasn't like he could help that. The twitching spread to his ears. He curled his paws into fists. The water still dripped off his pants, landing with a condescending plip-plip-plip sound, like it KNEW his suffering and was intending to squeeze every last juicy minute out of the torture. The nose, the toes, the tail followed and began to clinch and twitch madly. Poor little dog with him his bottom half soaked looked like he was going to break out into an epileptic seizure any minute. But he wasn't ill or epileptic... he was just wildly, horribly PISSED OFF. He re-tied his tie in a jerky, mechanic manner, with such malice in his actions that one may have though the fabric would rip with the brutality in which it was tied. However, it came out perfectly, despite the rigid manner of tying. He continued to glare at Nova with that one twitching eye, his ears flicking like antennae in the rain, tail convulsing like a flag in violent wind, and his nose flaring like he was searching out a fire. As they say... beware the quiet ones. Milo was close to strangling the younger girl. It was HER fault his tie now had an indent in it, HER fault he now had clots of mud lodged in his back claws, HER fault the cuffs of his pants were sopping wet. BUT. Milo calmed down. He gave a huge sigh, sounding like all of his anger was released with that one sigh. He stood there with his head bowed for a moment before looking at Nova with an exasperated look. He held it a few moments before it turned into a smile... which was decidedly LESS pleasant than the look of anger had been before. " I will kill you," he announced happily.

Nova just smiled at Milo's evident display of anger. If she was at all bothered by the male's reaction, she didn't show it at all; in fact, it would be safer to say that the girl just wasn't taking him seriously. Milo could twitch and glare all he wanted; she was sure that was pretty much the worst the neurotic pup could do, since she was sure that he was too scared of any germs she might carry to come within an arm's reach of her. She just watched without reaction as the older pup's extremities seemed to convulse while he redid his tie - she felt no qualms about having peanutted it so badly to get him here now that Milo had managed to retie it with (in her view) little problem - just letting him finish before speaking again.
Her gaze turned a little curious as the other pup seemed to calm down, most of his twitching stopping altogether, wondering if that meant she'd actually got through to him. Maybe he was about to admit that she'd been right, his paws weren't about to become all infected and drop off just because he'd got them dirty, or whatever it was he'd been scared of. A slight chill coursed up her spine, however, as Milo's expression slipped into a not-entirely-pleasant smile, and the female frowned, trying to make sense of this development before the boy spoke again.
When he did, Nova couldn't help it. The girl literally burst out laughing, clamping her clean paw over her mouth as she guffawed. She probably shouldn't have, but the thought of neurotic little Milo... "You couldn't. You'd get my blood all over your hands," she snorted, failing rather pathetically to stifle her chuckling. The image was just ridiculous to her, honestly - and even if Milo really was intent on causing her bodily harm, all she had to do was dive into the nearby muddy pond and he wouldn't dare approach her. No, there was no way she could take his threat seriously.
