Okay so I've been reading a lot of movie reviews and previews for upcoming movies so I figured this would be a fun discussion thread. If you find something weird or strange being made or consider being made into a film or you had one of those facepalm moments while reading an article about an upcoming movie, place it here. We can discuss it, make fun of it or even argue why we think its a good idea even though you do not.
For example: THEY ARE MAKING A FRIGGIN' SCARY MOVIE 5...WHY...WHY...

Ew. I hate those movies XD I still don't see why they felt the need to remake Spiderman or Total Recall But apparently the former is pretty awesome so... meh? Magic Mike looks really damn stupid XDDDDD It's just Channing Tatum being a stipper. It's like Playgirl: The Movie basically XDDDDD

Why do they need Despciable Me 2? I can't understnad it. What was wrong with just the first one? It's never because there's anything wrong with the first one - it's just greedy people seeing the opportunity to capitalise on the success of a movie that was popular in order to make themselves more money XP

I can't understnad it. What was wrong with just the first one? I don't get it either. The first one basically sets it at, well... "The End." I can't really see a sequel for it -.-

Ooooh Stitch. WHY would you open up a thread featuring the one topic I NEVER shut up about XDDDD You guys...have been warned.
Hollywood...UGH. They RUIN. ALMOST. EVERYTHING. Nothing's original anymore, except for like, super hero movies. The occasional animated one (mostly where Stop-motion's involved) but generally...it's sickening.
Tis why I essentially only go see super hero movies and that's IT. Every time I go to see something else, it sucks. Granted, Prometheus was good but I'm a fan of the Alien franchise (Though I've not seen Alien 3, 4 or AvP)...
And then there's BOOK ADAPTIONS. If you ask me, unless you're Peter Jackson, STAY AWAY. Him aside, there have been like, very VERY Few movies made these days based on books that I actually consider good. Those would be Stewart Little, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and Coraline. Granted, I saw Coraline before reading the book, but even after, I felt the changes made by Selick were sensible given that the book focused solely on one character with little interaction elsewhere.
Didn't care for Prince Caspian.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader was good, but the cinematography wasn't up to par.
Older adaptions of book to movies (Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks) were also really well done...so was 101 Dalmatians (IMO) and the Jungle Book. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971), despite being different from the book in several aspects, had such brilliant acting and music I honestly didn't really care. Burton's version was PARTIALLY more accurate but it was awful.
And THEN we have "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." We ALL know I despise this movie. For SEVERAL reasons. Unlike the other works I just mentioned, the book was based on Abe's life--nonfiction. And despite the vampires, it was frighteningly convincing. Like..."HOLY CRAP IT MAKES SENSE WTF" convincing. YES there was a lot to include but that could've been solved in three steps without fucking it up. 1) Change the narrator to Henry Sturges. He plays such a huge role, it actually makes sense to do so. Plus, we'd also get the kickass ending of the book, not the lame one in the film. 2) Make it longer. The film was 1hr 45mins. As this was the ENTIRE life of Abe, it REALLY needed to be closer to 2 hrs 30mins to properly tell it. 3) Keep in mind AS you're making it that this is a movie about Abraham Lincoln. Treat it like a historical film, and then add the vampires and Henry. There's no need for a damn train sequence, or a fucking horse chase or an "axe-gun" or friggin' "Adam" who didn't exist at ALL in the novel. The book was FANTASTIC because it was THE life of Abraham Lincoln, with underlying scenes that were realistic enough to be believable. The movie was WAY too Hollywood and relied FAR too heavily on re-used plot points in other Hollywood films >>;;;
This movie could have been INCREDIBLE. It wasn't. And in twenty years, I'm gonna make it again.
THAT aside, I'll touch on one more point. I hate seeing movies that COULD have been great but due to poor script or plot or refining, just weren't. "Red Riding Hood" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" are the examples I'm thinking of. They had a LOT of potential but just weren't articulated well. And that's really sad.
....I'm done. For now. I'll be back when Hollywood pisses me off again xD

Transformers 2:Revenge Of The Fallen:
I DO like this film, but it's terrible compared to 1 and 3. The desert scene just ruined it for me. It was WAY too long, and it dragged on. It was a boring scene. The only thing that was happening was exploding buildings and Sam running across a bland, almost empty set.
Another annoying thing about the movie is that they bothered to add new characters, but they didn't add them in the third movie. What was the point of making Arcee, Skids and Mudflap canon in the Bayverse if they weren't going to show up ever again? -___- When the movie first came out, I was so excited to see Arcee in it. She was my favourite character from the 80s cartoon.

I loved Prince Caspain! I think its because it was my favorite book and because Ben Barnes was so good looking, the one thing i didn't like was the romance between Susan and the prince just what was that!
oh, and I heard that they are making Iron Man 3. Just...I mean i will go see it because of Robert Downry Jr. But why a third one?

THE MOVIE ADAPTATION OF GURADIANS OF GA'HOOLE WAS BAAAAD. The graphics? OMG YES I WANT. The graphics were STUNNING and went beyond my expectations. Visually it was fantastic. Plot-wise? I wanted to hurt things seeing how many things they changed. I understand you need to change around and take out SOME things in order to make a book adaptation. But this was just unneeded. THERE WAS NO STUPID ECHIDNA TO FORETELL SOME CLCIHE STUPID PROPHECY. DIGGER IS NOT A SPASTIC TWIT AND TWILIGHT IS NOT SOME OVERDRAMATIC BLOWHARD. ST. AGGIE'S AND THE PURE OENS ARE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS AND BY COMBINING THEM YOU OFFICIALLY SCREWED UP A MAJOR PLOT POINT IN FOLLOWING MOVIE ADAPTATIONS. KLUDD AND METALBEAK ARE THE SAME CHARACTER AND METALBEAK IS SUPPOSED TO EB A TYTO ALBA, NOT A SOOTY OWL CUZ SOOTIES WERE AT THE BOTTO OF THE CHAIN IN THE PURE ONES AND THERE IS NO WAY ONE COULD BECOME HIGH TYTO. YOU CAN'T ADAPT THE REST OF THE BOOKS PROPERLY BECAUSE YOU FUCKED YOUR FIRST TRY UP. WAY TO GO GUYS. WAY TO GO. ...anyways. I'm done ranting XP Liveaction Fairly Oddparents movie. How did this even get into production. WHY. WHYYYYYYY ;A; Oh and I saw they're making another Step Up movie. How many are there now? XDDDDD And they're making a Paranormal Activty 4. NOOOOO. WHYYYYYY. The first three movies were wrapped up nicely and their storylines fit together, what else can you possibly add that isn't starting anotehr storyline? Oh wait. These are horror movie sequels we're talking about. They don't make sequels to fit the plot, they do it to make money (we ignore Blair Witch 2... that film was never made... IT IS DEAD TO US. DEEEAD.)... I forgot Well I guess I can just hope this one will be at least kind of satisfying. I can only hope XD

HOLLYWOOD.
PLEASE ANSWER ME THIS:
WHY ARE YOU MAKING SO MANY "STEP UP" MOVIES?
I don't think anyone even cares about the franchise. Just...why is there ANOTHER "Step Up" movie in the works? It doesn't make sense. ;o;

Dear Hollywood,
Why do you feel the need to bring old cartoons and comic characters back in the form of movies that look horrible? Seriously. You should have drawn the line a long time ago before the live action Garfield movie. We don't need a Mr. Peabody and Sherman movie.
Love, Phantom.

What in the world is the point of that Oogielove movie that just came out? Like, it's laughably ridiculous. I know it's a film for really little kids but the characters are disturbing and there are so many unnecessary cameos. I just can't believe that it's in existence and that Christopher Lloyd and Chloris Leachman agreed to it. Nope.
All qualms aside, I'm actually the slightest bit tempted to go see it. Just to see how unspeakably stupid it is.
