Well, there's the age old question: Who does Lucky end up with? Who does he ultimately favor one over the other?
What if the answer is all of them?
All the girls want Lucky....all the pretty girls who aren't of blood relation have or had crushes on Lucky in the past... much to the chagrin of the other male pups on the farm.
And Lucky eats it up. He gets quite a big ego on top of an already huge head.
at first, he didn't MEAN to string them along, not really. He was just enjoying hanging out with friends.
sometimes it was Two-Tone. He did enjoy hanging out with her when she wasn't with Mooch.
sometimes Jewel. Jewel was a sweet girl, very kind, and very pretty. He thought she was cute
and then.....there came Rebecca. Rebecca stumbled onto the farm one day dirty, disheveled and strangely delighted to see Lucky. She almost acted as if she knew him. Lucky doesn't recognize her of course, but what he DOES recognize is another pretty face to string along and show around the farm.
So he becomes friends with her in effect. And over time, she comes to adore him, as the others do.
now while this is happening, you have poor little bumbling Dipstick, who developed a crush on Rebecca the moment he set eyes on her. And he awkwardly, clumsily attempts to win her affections. She politely declines him, or walks away, because her heart is Lucky's, and this continues for years. Each girl hopes over time that she will be the one he picks -- because he's never actually asked any of them to be his steady girlfriend. But they all love him, and they all hope he'll pick one of them.
Lucky's just enjoying himself meanwhile, not really thinking that hard about it at all.
when he mates with Two-Tone, it's just sort of ..well, it just happens. They're together, she's in heat, and they just do it.
so Jewel and Rebecca are left broken-hearted, because Lucky has apparently chosen his new mate. they aren't aware of course, that he's STILL not taking her seriously... he's a dog after all, why does he need a steady mate? she'll have her pups and he'll mosey on...having spread his seed. But in the meantime it's kind of fun...
Two-Tone feels different however. She's secretly liked Lucky ever since they were puppies, and is elated that he picked HER, of all the girls, to mate with. And she's more than happy to bear his pups.
then things go horribly, horribly wrong.
The first two puppies appear to be fine. What scares the crap out of both of them is the third pup is born with two heads. the shock causes Two-Tone to lose the rest of the litter. The pups that would've been Gertrude, Danae, Iago and Brutus are stillborn.
Roger comes to inspect the new litter because of course, it's his favorite pup's...and he's also grotesquely shocked by the two-headed puppy. Puzzled and shocked, he gets Anita, and both agree that the most humane thing to do is have the pup euthanized. Anything with two heads couldn't possibly grow up healthy could it?
At first, Two-Tone is gung-ho for the idea, terrified of the two-headed pup that she birthed, and Lucky agrees. After a while though, motherly instinct kicks in and she realizes...that's still one of her pups. And Roger's going to have it killed.
So she barges in just before little Janis can be put to sleep, putting up such a fuss that Roger decides to let the pup live. Obviously, Two-Tone doesn't want the pup to die and he accepts that.
so then they're stuck. For the first time in their life the two fun-loving dalmatians are forced to make real, heavy decisions, and the birth of Janis raises a lot of questions.....like why? How? Was there something wrong with LUCKY'S genes, or was it Two-Tone's? They eventually seek their parents' help.
meanwhile.....you have heartbroken Rebecca, feeling trampled to the dust after learning the news of Two-Tone's pregnancy by Lucky. She's devastated -- she was positive Lucky had eyes for her, and would come to take her seriously in time...but he chose Two-Tone.
That's when Dipstick approaches, feebly attempting to comfort her and assuring her HE'S always taken her seriously....maybe it's time to look elsewhere for a mate (hinthint)
and she realizes that he's always been around, he's always tried to be kind even when she turned him down. He's always BEEN there. So they become mates.
Cadpig and Tripod are lurking in the background all the while, having found common ground and fell in love long before the others. They have Ace, then a few months later, Seven and then Star.
Pups in this universe:
Lucktone: Desdemona, Claudius, Janis
DipBecca: Arrow, Bo, Cupid, Twitter, Annabelle, Aphrodite, Melvin and Shelby
Tripig: Ace, Seven, Star
forgive me bad grammer, this was copy-pasted from an oovoo conversation since it's kinda long but...yeah. There it is xD
