A little Eternal Sonata/Meet the Robinsons AU crossover thing. For the sake of things, let's say Polka and Wilbur have already met before.
Phantom - Polka ShadePrincess - Wilbur
-----
The morning had been anything but eventful. Polka had spent it inside, uncertain of whether or not to venture out due to how much trouble she had gotten into with her father when she'd snuck out to meet her new friend a few days prior, and wished to be beyond the confines of her home. She knew her father meant well and that he wanted her to be safe, but she was dreadfully bored and wanted to see her friend again. Wilbur. He was different from the other boys. He didn't care that she was a frail little wallflower and sickly by nature. He liked her for who she was, and Polka appreciated that fact.
"Maybe he wouldn't mind if I left for an hour or so." Polka murmured. She slipped out of bed, silently thanking whatever gods there were that she wasn't feeling as awful as she did some days, and made her way over to the window. It was open for the sake of providing a fresh breeze. This would allow for an escape if she felt it necessary. Unfortunately, the blonde was terribly uncertain of whether or not she'd be able to make it without help.
"...Okay. This isn't a good idea. I need help." Polka said. She backed up and frowned, her light blonde eyebrows creasing visibly as she brought a hand up to her mouth. Where was Wilbur when she needed his assistance?

As if on cue, Wilbur came up out of nowhere. "I felt the sense of a girl in need!" he said looking at Polka with a smile. "What can I do for you Polka? And don't say you don't need me because my Wilbur senses never lie!"

At the sound of Wilbur's voice, Polka's pale features lit up and a smile blossomed on her face. "Wilbur!" Polka greeted cheerfully. She returned to her position by the window, little hands resting on the window sill, and she looked down to where Wilbur was standing. He always knew when he was needed, it seemed. That was what Polka liked about him other than the fact that he liked her for her. Glancing back to make sure no one had entered her room without her knowledge, Polka decided it was time to tell him that she needed his assistance.
"I don't want to be stuck here anymore. Dad's being too protective. I want to go outside with you, Wilbur. But... I can't get down by myself." Polka explained. She could have climbed down if there was ivy or some other plant to give her something to grip as she went down, but since the wall was bare there was nothing she could do. A ladder or something was needed.
"Can you help me, Wilbur? Please?"

"Is that all?" Wilbur asked with a smile. "Sure I can help you, no problem." he said. "I can get you a latter...or you can hop on my shoulders?"

"You really think I should jump?" Polka asked. Was that safe? Probably not by any means, but at that point the blonde was desperate enough for fresh air that she would do just about anything to get outside. Besides, Wilbur was there. He'd probably cushion her fall or try to catch her. She hoped. Just to make sure, Polka decided she ought to ask before going through with the plan of slipping out the window and going down that way.
"Are you sure? I mean... you'd catch me, wouldn't you? You wouldn't just... let me fall?"

Wilbur looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Well, now was time for him to bring out the old charm that he could get his way with his parents. "I would never let you fall. I would always catch you." he said. "Now come on and jump."
