Too lazy to list who's who. You know who you are. Nala paced back and forth, her pale cream tail swishing in irritation on the dusty Outland ground as her impatience grew. Where were her lionesses? They were late for training! Igh who was she kidding. She hated this place. She hated it all. That skinny brown menace just had to show back up and ruin her peace, and kill her mate, her king, along with it. Her eyes blazed with green fire at the thought of another lioness taking her position as queen. They could kill her mate, torture her endless, but they could NOT take away her rule. "I'm here, mother!" The full-grown lioness spun around and bared her teeth, right in the face of a wide-eyed golden lion cub. She let her fur lie down at the sight of her scruffy-furred daughter. "You're late, Kiara." she snapped instead of apologizing. Kiara dipped her head. "Very sorry, mother." she said, no expression in her voice. She looked back up with a sharp gaze. "Permission to train?" Nala had raised her in a very tight military-like manner, and she had no plans of loosening her daughter's discipline level. Studying her claws, the feme ignored Kiara's request. "Ugh, we can't train until your brother gets here." she said in annoyance. She turned around. "KOPA!!!!" she roared. Her son was Simba's heir, and she would make sure he would take the throne one way or another. And that began with training.

A blonde cub bounded out of pride rock. Her violet eyes went wide looking over the Pridelands, unaware of the current training going on somewhere else. The little cub just wanted to play. Vitani ran back into the cave to go look for her brother.

Kopa winced as his mother's voice reverberated through the Outlands. Wasn't he a prince? Princes shouldn't have to train as hard as mom put him through, even if they didn't have a kingdom anymore, right? Scratching at his scraggly fur, Kopa pushed himself to his paws anyway. He knew better than to ignore mom when she wanted him to train, even if he personally didn't want to.
That wasn't to say that he was happy with their situation, of course. He may have only been a young cub back then, but he missed dad terribly, and longed to be back in the land he'd been born in - but he wished there was some way that didn't involve training him so hard. Momentarily scrarching a a termite he felt sure was lodged behind his ear, the scruffy-looking brownish-gold cub bounded town the termite mound he'd been napping on top of, quickly arriving at his mother's paws.
"I'm here, mom." Kopa replied somewhat breathlessly, snapping to attention beside his sister. Hopefully she wouldn't ask where he'd been - because he was sure his answer of 'asleep' wouldn't be well recieved.

"Vitani..." The sickeningly sweet voice of Zira was there in the air, hanging like christmas ornaments on a tree. The lioness had just risen from sleep and stretched, staring out at the young blonde furred cub. She smiled, tilting her head to the side. Zira's crazy level had gone down a lot since Scar had won the pride lands back for them. The drought had gone and everything was plush and green. She could have purred had she been a housecoat. Everything was going according to plan.
"Hello darling," she said, rubbing her head against Vitani's in a loving manner, "How are you doing this morning?"

A smile formed on the young cub's face. "I'm doin' great mama." she said, a small laugh escaping her muzzle. "I was just going to go exploring. Do you know if Nuka or Kovu are up? I wanna play with them." Now that they had the Pridelands, there was so much to do. She could play, explore, or go check out that shadowy place.

Kovu was laying on the floor of the cave. His family members seemed to think he was still asleep, but he wasn't. There was a troubled expression on his face. It bothered him for some reason that they'd had to kick Simba's family out....but they were the imposters, weren't they? They weren't the real royal family. Scar's family was. But still it .... it didn't seem right. He felt guilty, like they'd committed some terrible wrong. He failed to notice Vitani and Zira nearby, too lost in his own thoughts to care.

Kiara shot a glare at her brother. "Nice going, Kopa. Now mother is-" "Quiet!" Nala snapped. Kiara fell silent immediatly and straightened up. Nala then turned to look at Kopa, a smile stretching across her maw. "Not to worry, my son," she said in a sickly sweet voice, stroking the tuft of scruffy brown hair on top of his head. "I'm sure whatever you were doing was very very important." She withdrew her paw and padded around her two offspring. "Now, for training today I want you to do twenty laps around the Outlands and climb the termite mounds forty." she told them. Kiara flicked her tail. "But mother, what about the other lionesses?" she asked. Nala spun around to face her daughter, nose to nose with her. "Do not interupt me!" she snarled. "Fifty laps!" Kiara just stared at her, crimson eyes wide. Nala Bared her teeth. "Fifty laps! Now!" she roared again. Without needing to be told twice, Kiara darted away, dissapearing behind a bramble thicket.
Nala turned once more towards Kopa, green gaze softening. "You can do the laps later. I have a different task for you." she told him. "Since you are the future king of the pridelands, it only makes since that you become familiar with your own land. I want you to go around the pridelands and learn as much a you can about it. Placement of things, shortcuts..." she trailed off, picturin the scenes of her cubhood. Home. "Remember, my son. The stronger you get the closer we get back to home."

Kopa tried - and didn't altogether succeed - to hide a frown of sympathy for his sister. Fifty laps?! He didn't protest, though; the fact that he'd have to do the same laps later on weighed heavily on him, and he didn't want his own number to be similarly increased. He was sure Kiara had what it took to do the laps, of course, but that didn't mean he had to like the thought of her running herself half to death.
The thoughts vanished in an instand, however, when mom stated his own task. The golden cub's jaw dropped straight open before he could collect himself. "G-go into the pridelands?" he was always up for an adventure, sure, but somewhere along the line Kopa had learnt the distinction between 'adventure' and 'suicide', and this was sounding suspiciously like the latter. For once, he thought he'd rather be running laps with Kiara. "But mom, we were banished, if Scar or Zira see me there, they'll kill me on sight!" he protested, heedless of the trouble he might cause himself by speaking up. Geting into trouble with mom and being alive was somehow a much more appealing prospect than running into Scar and ending up dead.

"Since when do we listen to Scar's filthy laws?" Nala retorted hotly. "You never should be afraid of him or his pathetic breed!" Did her son honestly think she would leave him to fool around on enemy grounds? Of course she would following behind somewhat, making sure nothing went wrong with his training. Because of Kopa was to grow strong and avenge her whole pride, she couldn't have him kill himself in his first day sneaking around the pridelands. She leaned in towards the cub. "And you wouldn't defy your mother, would you?" she said, her eyes glinting with intimidation. Without waiting for a response, the pale lioness pushed him towards the direction of the pridelands. "Now go! Before I get angry!" she told him.

Kopa went. His short whip-like tail curled fearfully behind him as he all but fled his mother's presence, trying hard not to tremble. No matter what mom said, the young prince was definately afraid of Scar and his 'filthy brood'; he was just even more afraid of his mother. He only had a few memories from before Scar had kicked them all out of the Pridelands, but he was sure mom had never been like this back then. Still, he knew far better than to question what had changed unless he wanted to hear yet another tirade on Scar's myriad injustices.
Kopa had reached the borders of the Pride Lands before he finally decided he'd put enough distance between himself and Nala to slow down. In fact, the prince came to a complete stop on the land's borders. No matter how much mom might rage at him for his reluctance, the golden cub was sure that be'd be practically signing his own death warrent by stepping into the lands before him. Scar or Zira were probably watching his every more right now, ready to pounce and shred him as soon as he laid so much as one claw on the much more fertile ground before him.
Slowly, with infinite caution, Kopa reached out and touched Prideland soil with one toe. After letting it rest there a moment - and still being alive to tell of it - the prince placed his full paw into Scar's territory, followed by his other one. Still nothing. The cub almost wanted to laugh with relief. Maybe Scar wasn't as omniscient as he'd feared. Maybe, just maybe, he would be safe as long as he didn't make his presence too obvious.
With a sudden, joyous whoop, Kopa threw himself over the boundary and into the Pridelands, rolling in the luscious grass the way he hadn't been able to since before their exile. Oh man, this was good! This was...
home.
And mom would kill me if she could see me right now.
The thought snapped Kopa out of his moment of bliss. Right, he had a job to do. Picking himself up, oblivious to the telltale bits of grass sticking out of his fur, Kopa let himself just breathe in the Pridelands' air for a moment, before dropping to a hunter's crouch and moving what he thought of as 'stealthily' further into the land he was told should be his.
