Lyra and I have been planning to do an RP with our Scangel pups...I'm sorry it took so long to get the thread up.
Paige - Lyra Whirlwind - Namacub95
----------------------------------
Chained up. Whirlwind hated it. It wasn't his fault he was so clumsy, his balance had always been off. This time he'd broken an expensive vase of Darling's and Jim Dear had been very angry indeed.
He sat ok the roof of the doghouse, his head on his paws and his blue eyes staring vacantly at the street. He let out a small huff and turned his gaze away.

"Hey there, Whirlwind." Another dog came trotting up towards the dog house. It was Scamp and Angel's other child, Paige. The grayish-brown female sat down and looked up at her brother frowning. "Still thinking about that vase, huh?" she guessed, looking at his vacant expression. Her blue eyes softened. It wasn't all Whirlwind's fault afterall. She jumped back up to her cream colored paws. A playful glint suddenly appearing in her eyes. "Hey, I got you something you know." she told him mischeiviously.
She ran around the house and out of view for a moment, then returned with a book dangling in her mouth. She dropped it right in front of the dog house. She knew she would probably get in trouble for stealing the book, but it didn't matter as long as her brother was happy. "I know how much you love to read." she said cheerfully. "Why not check it out?"

Whirlwind gave a small huff at Paige's question, as close to a 'yes' as she was going to get. Whirlwind shifted slightly so he could face his sister. His face was twisted into a deep scowl. He was always getting into trouble for breaking things. He always tripped over his own paws.
When Paige went away again, he looked up. His brows creased in confusiong and with a small leap he was on the ground again in time to see her return with a book. He couldn't help but smile at the gesture. His sister knew him better than anyone.
He glanced at the title.
"The Odyssey. Homer. Thanks." he said before fliping the cover open "I've never read this one before...do you want me to read it to you?"

Paige smiled as her brother flipped open the book. At least she had managed to cheer him up somewhat. But her smile vanished as he asked her to read with him. "Uh..." she hesitated. She had a very severe case of Dyslexia which made her avoid reading as much as she could. But she didn't want to disappoint him, she hated seeing him upset.
She managed a weak smile. "Alright." she agreed, sitting down next to him and holding her breath nervously.

Whirlwind noticed his sister's uncertaincy and mentally slapped himself. Paige was dyslexic. He often forgot because she seemed like the normal one of them both. He was the oddity who prefered reading to socializing and Paige was the normal pup who'd often drag him, protesting all the way, into social situations.
"We don't have to if you don't wanna." Whirlwind said, quickly closing the book again "I'm sorry."

"No no no, it's okay!" Paige protested. She looked down at her paws in embarrassment at her sudden outburst. She looked back up at Whirlwind. "Really... It's fine. I'd love to hear you read. You're so good at it." She told him. She would risk having a headache than making him feel worse any day.

Whirlwind looked at his sister for a moment...he was so stupid for suggesting reading when he knew she didn't like it. She always complained that she got headaches afterwards. His blue eyes then went to the leather-bound cover of the book.
He loved reading...but he hated making his sister upset. He looked up at her again, clearly torn about whether to read the book and give his sister a headache or not to and make his sister happy.
