(ooc: Uh, I ought to point out that, despite being a dragicorn, Fire doesn't have a horn; just spines like her father's)
Still watching the apparently-resurected Twinkle Blossom out of the corner of her eye, Fire turned her head back to face the other hybrid. It made sense, she supposed, that Eris and Ares didn't know each other, remembering what Ares had said about the way he'd been brought into being - Discord conjuring a sample of his own and Scootaloo's DNA from thin air and combining them into a baby freak just to intimate the would-be mother, who he'd then dumped the foal on. No doubt the Equestria Chaos Overlord had done the same to some other unsuspecting mare, just for a laugh. Fire surpressed a shudder. At least her own mom had known she'd be raising a freak instead of having one forced on her out of nowhere.
It was no surprise to Fire, as she shrugged that thought away, that Eris had almost used the term 'freak'. It was true, to her mind, they were freaks; although thanks to Ares, Fire was starting to come to realise that this wasn't particularly such a bad thing as she'd always thought. "It's always good to find out you're not the only freak around," she stated with a nod to Eris, remembering what a relief it had been to her when Ares had first shown up, despite mom's reservations about the child of Discord.

"Ah'm an Apple, too," another voice piped into the conversation between the two colts. Once Sky had started talking to the other foal about Rainbow Dash, who she hardly knew anything about, Sunset Blossom's attention had been turned elsewhere, to some of the other ponies around her. Completely failing to notice Fire's mention of her former name, Sunset's attention was instead drawn to the mention of her family line, and had led the girl to butt into that conversation. She looked in fascination at Apple Buck, who she assumed must be her cousin. "But Ah ain't met any'a the rest of 'em, though. Ms Zecora says it's too dangerous to leave the forest."
