Beware, Beware {Next-Gen Pony RP}

I guess this goes here. Okay this is for any Next-Gen ponies you wanna play. I'll leave it open but I'll be playing Eris (Discolight) & Static Spice (BraeDash).

"Whoa, the forest is pretty bare today. Wonder where everyone is?" The pony-eqques moved her way towards the field of poison joke, carefully stepping past it and trotting farther into the dark of the woods. The girl was just stretching her legs, leaving her new home in Ponyville, her new stepfather (the traveling salespony) and her bratty jerk of a little sister. Eris was returning to the place her mother fled to when she was born, female mix breed feeling more comfortable there than she had ever felt in Ponyville. The stares she got, the whispers of the townsfolk. It was maddening. So she retired to the Everfree forest.

Suddenly she heard a crash. The girl gasped and stood watching as a blue furred blonde maned pegasus stumbled out of the brush. The red eyed girl sneered.

"Static!"

"Oh hey, Eris! Uh, what's shakin'?"

"Static Spice, what is your deal? Did you follow me?"

"Naw, princess, just stretchin' the wings, lady. Don't flatter yourself!" The cocky pony grinned.

[Kitexa]

"I still don't know WHY you brought me out here, Sky." Sprite moaned, trotting begrudgingly behind the pink-haired pegasus. Sky Light spun around, wings a flutter, and cocked her head to the side.

"I thought a walk around would help clear your head. You've been awful grouchy lately."

One blue eye twitched. "I'm not grouchy, I'm frustrated. And you'd be too if you lived in the clusterbuck that is the Apple Family."

"What about mah family?"

Both girls turned, surprised to see a bi-eyed golden head poke out of the bushes. Sprite frowned. "Apple Buck. What are you doing here?"

Emerging fully from his hiding place, Apple Buck shook himself off, then straightened, mustering an "older brother" expression. "Y'all wandered off without any warnin'. Thought Ah'd better follow ya in case" he looked at Sprite "ya did somethin' stupid."

Unicorn girl made to reply, but Sky Light hastily cut in. "You don't have to worry about us; I know how to keep this filly outta trouble." She forced a smile, a childish "see, I'm responsible" smile.

If she hadn't been twelve, Apple Buck might have believed her. "Ya say that but Ah've seen this here little miss git herself in enough trouble to think otherwise." He pointed a hoof at Sprite, who blushed, flustered.

I've been taking care of myself longer than I've known you, she thought, and intended to reiterate it aloud when her ears caught wind of a boastful, arrogant tone somewhere in the near distance. By the look on the others' faces, they'd noticed it too.

"See, Bucky? We're not the only ones out here. Like Sky said, no need to worry."

Again, the blond pony remained unconvinced. "Just cuz they're out here don' mean they should be. This ain't the safest part of Equestria." Green-blue eyes roved to Sky Light. "Can ya fly up an' see who's hollerin', Sky Light?"

The pegasus nodded, gathering distance between herself and the ground, then whirled around and took off. "Hello?" She called out. "Helloooo,anyone here?"

Her moms wouldn't approve, she was sure, but at the first sign that someone else was here, in the forest they called home, Sunset Blossom had been off like a shot, leaving Aunt Sweetie hopelessly behind as she charged after the winged pony who she'd seen flying overhead. In fact, the young filly had never seen a Pegasus before - not since her memory loss anyway - so more than anything else, Sunset was incredibly curious. Especially when she saw another pegasus shoot up into the air above the forest, calling out for anyone else. Caution forgotten (she didn't know of the war that held Equestria in its grip, after all) the little pink-coated filly reared up on her hind legs, waving her front hooves in the air.

"Heeeeey! Who're yoooou?" she shouted to the sky, probably alerting every wild beast within a mile of her that there was free prey around here, and realising as much, the girl quickly clamped her mouth shut. She still had the scars from the time (though she couldn't remember that experience either) she'd been mauled by them, and wasn't anxious to repeat the experience.

Deep inhale. Then exhale hard.

The teenage dragicorn gave a tight smile of satisfaction as fire spat from her maw with the exhelation of breath, turning the small tree that had been standing directly in front of her into a pile of ash, even as it singed her lips slightly in the process. That was the problem with being part pony; she couldn't withstand spitting a sustained burst of fire like a full dragon could, not without her upper lip suffering from it. The bottom lip was covered in scales, so that was alright, but the upper one was unprotected... Fire Ruby winced slightly as she ran her tongue against her tender lip. It was the price she had to pay for her special talent.

And the price she had to pay for being a freak.

There was no denying it. Part pony, part dragon, all freak, but... in a way, Fire was starting to come to terms with it. If she'd been fully pony, she wouldn't have the ability at all; if she was fully dragon, she'd be hiding in a cave hoarding Celestia only knew what by now, so maybe she had the best of both? Still didn't mean she hated that her parents had willingly concieved a freak baby any the less, but she was starting to come to terms with it. It had been a good month or two since she'd last got into a yelling match with mom over the fact, anyway - and mostly, she supposed, she owed it to Ares, the strange draconequus who had appeared seemingly out of nowhere claiming to be the son of somepony called Scootaloo, and who had helped her realise that being what she was really wasn't all bad.

Taking a deep breath, Fire was about to start practicing her special talent again when voices reached her ears, and she paused, letting the flame die in her mouth. Who else would be out in this forest that even Discord didn't bother with? Frowning - and curious, in spite of herself - the young dragicorn turned, starting towards the source of the calls.

Sky Light froze, face lit up with curious glee when her call received an answer. And one that sounded rather close in age. Excited now, she zipped ahead of the party, ignoring Apple Buck's shouts to stay put and wait. "Heey! Hey who's out theeere!" Pegasus cried out, visually scanning the forest below as she --

What was that?

That...pink and red...thing? Shape?

"Pony!" Sky Light squealed, summer-saulting as a double-back to greet the one she'd seen. It must have been a pony--shrubberies weren't colored like that. She didn't have to fly too far before finding the colored form again, and looking at it closely, even from the air, it was definitely pony.

Lowering herself in a partial nose-dive, the pegasus child pulled up at the last minute and dropped to her feet with a light thump in front of an apparent pink-furred, red-haired earth filly.

"Hi!" Sky Light chirped with an eager smile. "Who're you?"

[Angel]

"Hey!" Sunset grinned as the other filly landed right in front of her. The earth pony swiped at her brilliant red mane to brush it away from her face for a moment. Seeing a real live pegasus up close, even if she was just a foal like her, was breathtaking for the earth-bound girl, and for a moment she seemed a little speechless, just casting a semi-envious glance at Sky's wings, before quickly remembering to introduce herself. "Ma name's Sunset Blossom," her voice carried a little of her younger mother's inflection, but in comparison to the rest of the Apple Family, it was really only a hint of the accent common to the rest of the family. "Who're you? Y'all ain't alone out here, are ya?"

She was sure the pegasus couldn't be alone out here. These woods were dangerous, as she well knew, and even for someone as awesome as a pegasus, she was sure that travelling alone through them was a recipe for disaster.

"Whaaaat was that?" Eris' trimmed ears perked as Static floated on his back.

"Probably just some dumb animal, you know the forest's full of them."

"Static!" Eris hissed annoyed, "C'mon braniac, let's go find out what's happening." Trotting up to where the others were, the pony-eqqus hid behind a bush while Static floated up behind her. Her eyes squinted but the boastful blue pony burst into the clearing, floating high above the others.

"Hey there!" he said with a big cocky grin, "Everfree forest for an adventure huh? Feel like scarin' up some fun? HA." He landed beside Apple Buck looking up at the older pony. "Howdy! My name's Static. Static Shock." Peering over at Eris who was still hiding in the bush, he called out to her. "C'mon out of the forest, dork, you'll be fine!"

Eris flushed angrily.

(Would anyone object me bringing in another 2nd gen guy I've recently become attached to? ^^'')

Sky Light's smile only grew broader; glad the little pink pony shared her curiosity. "My name's Sky Light!" The pegasus greeted, "it's nice to meet you, Sunset Blossom." She'd noticed the other girl staring at her (wings?) but didn't deem it THAT important. A little strange, yeah, but she'd known other earth ponies who envied her ability to fly. "I'm not here alone." Sky continued, "Came here with my friends, well, one friend, and another one kind of followed. He doesn't trust my friend on her own." She chuckled to herself, then trailed off, something...familiar? About this filly sticking in her mind. "This IS the first time we're meeting, right? I don't know you from somewhere else?

Apple Buck, meanwhile, had started a bit when a blue-blond blur dropped to his side. For a second, he'd thought his half-sister Summerfree had followed him out here, but a double-take reminded him this pegasus was male. And the wrong shade of blue. "What in tarnation - more kids out here?" Southern stallion sputtered, tone of voice hardening when the shock wore off.

Sprite rolled her eyes (despite having jumped when this "Static" character appeared out of nowhere) . "This isn't my doing." She stated flatly, then threw a glance over her shoulder at the...creature...concealed in the bushes. "What are you supposed to be? Another dragon/pony hybrid?" It was a guess at best; only part of the girl was revealed and while she WAS a hybrid of SOME kind...half "dragon" was stretching it...

[Angel]

Fire's ears twitched. She was getting closer to the source of the voices, no doubts there, and she could grab snatches of what they were saying, including the particular part that had caught her attention. Whoever it was could only be talking to her, she thought, but since there WERE no other dragon/pony freaks - that much she was certain of - the insinuation that she wasn't the only one anymore almost struck Fire as a little insulting. Frowning, she shoved her way through the underbrush to come within sight of the speaker and her group.

"Someone ask for the dragicorn freak?" she asked shortly, her violet orbs with their slitted pupils travelling over the assembled ponies. No-one she knew, but since until recently, keeping away from ponies who would mock her for her cross-species freakishness had been a priority of hers, so that was no great surprise. What was surprising was that the three - no, four, there was someone hiding in a buch too - young ponies were out here at all.

"A bit young to be braving certain death out here, aren't you?" she scoffed, eyebrows sliding up her head as she took them in. Well, maybe that heavyset earth pony wasn't, but the other two... The beasts had been acting more riled and territorial ever since Discord had taken over the outside world; she'd had a second cousin who'd been lost to them before, and was under no illusions as to how vicious they could be nowadays.

Sunset frowned as the winged filly sought confirmation that they'd never met before. "Nah, we can't... well..." she paused, thinking. Sky could actually be right, and Sunset would never know it, honestly. "Ah suppose Ah could have know y' before... they say Ah lost my memory. That was a good couple years ago, but y'all are the first pegasus Ah've seen since then."

She pushed her hair, which had a tendency to fall across the sides of her vision, back with one hoof again. "Maybe we oughta git back to yer friends? Safer in a group, y'know?" Not that she was one to talk, always running off on her own and mostly leaving Aunt Sweetie Belle to chase her down, but at least Sunset never kept still while she was on her own. A pair of fillies standing around talking in the middle of the forest was just inviting the beasts in for a snack.

Frozen in place, the draconicorn pinned her fluffy ears back. Well, she was discovered, no point in hiding now. Swallowing and moving out into the clearing, she raised her head and blinked her red and yellow eyes. "...hi..." The pony-cross said quietly, shuffling her feet in the dirt. "...No I'm kind of...different sort of freak." She lifted her lion paw, then her eagle claw, then planted both on the ground and shuffled her feet again. Tail flicking back and forth, she averted her gaze from the others. Even noticing the dragon-unicorn mix wasn't enough to make her lift her head again.

"Kids? HA! I may be young but I'm tough! This forest doesn't scare me! Heh." Cocky pegasus raised his head and shook his brilliant blonde mane. The other pony felt familiar to him. Kind of reminding him of his sister, Rodeo Rose. But he shook off the feeling, grinning blindly at the group. "Watch this!" He flew high into the air and did a backflip. Landing softly on the ground he puffed out his chest. Eris rolled her eyes.

"What's going on here?" Another voice came out of the bushes. Some might be frightened by what they saw, others might not. A tall slender young stallion was walking towards them. 2 of his thin limbs were bitten through with holes. Thin fangs hung out of his mouth and his black mane, cut short at the base of his head but ran into his bright violent green eyes. His fur was snow white and his horn was bent. The changling-unicorn hybrid peered at the others in the group before offering a sweet smile. "Well, hi there," he said kindly, turning to Apple Buck, "These kids aren't bothering you, are they?"

(The newcomer is Morpheus, my Shining Armor/Chrysalis son...don't judge me XD)

Sprite...stared. First at the dragicorn that appeared from nowhere, and then at the...other creature. Talk about 'mismatched', the unicorn thought, then looked at the dragon/unicorn, as she'd been the one to speak first. "'Certain death' is a bit overdramatic." The lemon-colored girl huffed. If the scaly female had been just a tad more higher-pitched sounding, her nonsensical babble would've resembled Pinkie Pie. "It's 'spooky' but I doubt anything REALLY dangerous lives around here." Not that she was one to talk. She'd only been a Ponyville resident for under a year...the strangest thing she'd seen thus far was the mismatch-girl staring shyly with golden eyes. "Er...hi." Sprite nodded to her awkwardly.

Apple Buck, meanwhile, had been meaning to chide the spunky blue pegasus, but the newcomer stole away his attention. "Uuh..." Blank flank stammered, unable to keep from staring at the hybrid unicorn--hybrid with WHAT, he didn't know, but it definitely wasn't a dragon. C'mon, Buck, thoughts scolded, pa raised ya to be polite. So be polite. "Naw, nothin' Ah, er, Ah cain't handle. Got mahself two younger siblings; Ah know how to deal with foals..." Bi-eyes darted to Sprite, narrowing slightly. Most foals, anyway.

Sky Light decided Sunset Blossom was right; she HAD told Apple Buck she'd be right back. Actually she hadn't, but she'd meant to. "Okeydokey! Good idea!" Wings fluttered, lifting her hooves off the ground. "Follow me!" She yipped, and took off, making sure the other filly was following.

[Angel]

"Tell that to my little second cousin who got mauled to death by the beasts out here," Fire returned, sitting back on her haunches so that she could fold her arms without falling over. Poor Twinkle Blossom... it had been a couple of years since what Fire could only assume had been her death, and she'd never been overly fond of the foal, but she'd been so young... if she'd needed any more proof that the world wasn't fair, that little filly's fate had been it. "Mom said they've been riled up ever since Discord came back, and so these woods are deadly if you don't know how to defend yourself," she finished warningly, her violet orbs sizing up the unicorn facing her.

"...so envious..." Sunset could be heard to mutter as the other filly shot skyward again, before jumping to her hooves and following as quickly as she could along the ground. "I'm right behind you!" she called up to the pegasus, shoving her way through a couple of bushes that would have proved no problem for Sky but were rather in the way for her, emerging from the other side with twigs and leaves sticking out of her red mane as she continued trailing her winged new friend.

Static rolled his eyes as he fluttered above the dragicorn. She definitely didn't resemble the dragicorn he knew, Sweetie Belle and Spike's son. For one thing the little dragicorn he knew from back home was a blank flank. For another thing she stood on two legs, not four. But he shrugged. They were all weird to him. Though not as weird as freaking Eris and her freaking Discord father.

"PAH, Discord doesn't scare me!" He said, beating his chest with a hoof, "I'm the roughest toughest meanest pegasus this side of Ponyville! My Mom is the famous Rainbow Dash, flier extraordinaire! Draconeqques' don't scare me!"

"For goodness sakes, Static," Eris quipped, "She isn't talking about Discord. She's talking about the critters that inhabit the forest." She trotted (sort of) up beside Fire Ruby. "Hey, don't mind him, he's a moron," she said, jabbing an eagle thumb at Static, "My name's Eris. Draconequuicorn-heh. What's your name?" She wasn't a friendly thing but for some reason she felt a kinship with the young dragicorn. Maybe it was because they were both hybrids. Or maybe it was something else.

"Okay, good," Morpheus said with a sharp toothed smile, "Got myself a little sister too, well half-sister, but nobody's as riled up as my cousin and that Dash kid there." His emerald orbs shone as he flicked his hair out of his eyes. "My name's Morpheus. Future captain of the gaurd hopefully. Heh." He laughed to himself. "What's your name? I'll bet you're an Apple right? With that accent!" He peered on the side of the pony and stifled a frown. Where was his cutie mark? Even Morpheus himself had a cutie mark, a sword and a rose.

"Rainbow Dash?" Sky Light's high pitched squeak called from above. Little filly dove, pulling up at the last minute, hovering in front of Static. Green-blue eyes studied him, curiosity stretched across her maw. "I didn't know he had a son; I thought Starlit was his only foal."

Sprite twitched when the two hybrids began chit-chatting with one another; she hated being cut off. "Sprite." The unicorn curtly interrupted, despite the question clearly being for the female dragicorn. "Thanks for asking." She added with sarcasm.

When Morpheus' eyes wandered, Apple Buck shifted uncomfortably. The angle, the expression...he'd noticed his blank flank. Everypony does,sooner or later. "U-uhh...Ah'm Apple Buck." Southern stallion said abruptly, hoping to divert attention away from his lacking cutie mark. The older he got, the more blatantly obvious it became. "Ah'm a member of the Apple family, alright. Take it yer from Canterlot?"

[Angel]

"Fire Ruby," the dragicorn replied, scratching behind her ear with a claw for a moment as she took in Eris. Normally the hybrid could care less about familial relationships, especially of strangers, but for some reason - maybe the fact that she was growing closer to the male in question - she felt inclined to comment "Ares never told me he had a sister." She had to be Ares' sibling, she was sure - Discord was the only draconequus in existance, to the best of Fire's knowledge. She wondered if Eris had been whipped into being just to intimidate somepony the way Ares claimed to have been.

Amethyst eyes trailed over the rest of the group for a moment as more introductions were given and another pegasus burst onto the scene. She was half tempted to question where the others came from that they knew Rainbow Dash at all, since according to mom, that particular pegasus hadn't been seen since the first couple of days after Discord's reappearance, but didn't bother getting involved. It wasn't like she cared where some old friend of mom's that she'd never met was living now, anyway.

Moments after the new pegasus' entrance, another filly burst into the clearing, having evidently been following Sky from on the ground. This one had pink fur and a red mane that currently had bits of twig sticking out of it, but other than her unexpected colour scheme, appeared strikingly familiar to Fire. The hybrid had to blink a couple of times, trying to convince herself that the similarity had to be a coincidence, but there was no mistaking those brilliant golden eyes, or the way that wavy mane fell about her them, even if the last time she'd seen it it had been purple instead of red.

"Okay, I stand corrected," she stated, adressing the group at large, or at least those who had heard her earlier statement about her second cousin. She scrutinised the young filly, her orbs picking out the signs of faint scarring across Sunset's legs, although only someone who knew what they were looking for would have noticed them. "Evidently Twinkle Blossom just faked her death out here so she could dye her mane."

"Ares? I've never heard of him," Eris said with a huff, "Though it'd be nice if I DID have a brother. Then maybe Mama wouldn't be riding my flank all the time." She blinked her yellow and red eyes, turning towards the other filly. "I'm sorry," she mumbled, "I didn't mean to be rude. It's just...well...it's nice to see another fre-hybrid around, you know?" She had almost spat out the word she used to describe herself. But she wasn't entirely sure how the dragicorn would take it. She looked at her own horn then at Fire Ruby's. Wonder if she can do magic? Eris thought, biting her lip. But she didn't want to leave the other filly out again. But Fire Ruby had started to speak again and the female turned to see the other ponies in the clearing. "There's so many ponies here..." she mumbled to herself. Antisocial girl wasn't used to crowds.

"His?" Static tilted his head to the side as he floated in front of the filly, "You must have slipped up, kid. My mom's a she." His wings fluttered behind him as he flashed the filly a smile. "Starlit? Naw, my mum's got two foals, me and my sister Rodeo Rose. Though Rose's back in Appleloosa with Dad." He didn't go into anymore detail. He didn't like to talk about how his mother blatantly abandoned his sister just because she couldn't fly.

"Oh yeah," Morpheus said with a smile, flashing his fangs, "My Dad's the captain of the Canterlot guard and my mother's a princess. Raised there my whole life." He was a polite thing, not one to talk about himself all the time. "My best friend's an Apple. Though you're more articulate than he is, if I can say. His responses are usually an 'eeeyup' or a 'nnnope.'" He chuckled at his own impression of his zebra-Earth Pony friend.
