(Nope it's open :3)
"Something," Morpheus said, ears flicking back. He shook his raven mane and dipped his head down towards the girl giving her a warm smile, fangs gleaming a little out of his mouth before he closed his lips sheepishly. He didn't want to scare the child.
"Why not?" Rose asked innocently. The female was aged 16 but from her upbringing in the nice warm Appleloosa she was a lot more innocent and much more forward than her Ponyville and Cloudsdale raised brother, Static Spice. She looked up at the older earth pony with bright eyes, bright for this darkness. "Ponyville's awful nice. An' Cousin Applejack's there on Sweet Apple Acres! Well, her'n Cousin Big Mac an' Cousin Apple bloom an'...we got a big family don't we?" She laughed.
"Sometimes," Cesare said, "Mother does have a boutique there. But her friends and mine are in Ponyville. Father does so prefer it in Canterlot but what Mother says goes." He chuckled nervously, moving a little closer to the filly. Again, at ease he was with her. "I suppose you live in Canterlot then?"
Morpheus moved closer into the darkness, placing a hoof gently on Sky Light's back. "I for sure hear something out there," he said, "HEY!" Cesare's eyes widened.
"I hope you can do more advanced magic than I can!" he whimpered to Lapis, "If that's a monster the best I can do is sew him to death! AH! BUT I HAVE NO NEEDLES! This is just the WORST THING EVER." Rose rolled her eyes and prepared herself for the darkness.

Shamefully, Apple Buck was glad for the interruption, dangerous though it may be. The word "cousin" only increased his discomfort and if this fully was Apple Jack's then THEY were cousins too, and...
...he was thinking too much.
Not all cousins did what his parents had done.
It was a fluke. He was a fluke. Mismatched fluke who couldn't even earn his cutie mark...
Unlike the softer-spoken stallion, Sprite's main bristled and she returned to Sky Light's side. But back an inch or two. Didn't need the Pegasus getting ideas which was besides the point but still could happen. Lemon-colored filly's horn lit up, anticipation propelled by a sudden protective swell.
Sky Light looked between the hybrid and her friend, then took Sprite's (tried to take, anyway) example and assumed a more defensive stance.
Lapis, on the other hoof, snorted, lips pursed in a thin line, crease in her brow to match. She too, added a magic flair to the light around her horn but did not jump so quickly to conclusions. She merely met the eyes of the panicky colt, maternal authority setting back in. "Calm down." She said, the turned to the others. "Everyone, calm down. We don't know what's out there; if it is a Nightmare, we'd be best not to give it what it wants."

"Hey, look, Amethyst, it's other ponies!" Amethyst, being half-choked as he was, couldn't manage an answer as Sunset continued dragging him forward into the circle of light cast by the other unicorns' horns, where she finally let go of his tie. Amethyst, taken by surprise by the sudden release, stumbled forward a couple of steps more, tripped over his hooves, and was suddenly having a face-first introduction with the ground that Sunset didn't seem to notice.
"What're y'all doing here?" Her accent, while still noticable, was nowhere near as pronounced as the rest of her family's. "I dunno exactly where we are, but y'all oughta know it's a mite dangerous out here." Red-maned filly was assuming they were still in some part of the Everfree forest, only deeper than she'd ever gone before, since that had been where she'd been leading Amethyst before the landscape had abruptly changed to... this. Maybe they'd stumbled into some caves or something, it would explain the darkness.
"I don't know, they look like they can handle themselves." Rubbing his muzzle with one hoof, Amethyst pushed himself back into a sitting position, squinting down distastefully at his tie, the knot of which had got rather tight and uncomfortable from the pressure Sunset had been exherting on it. Concentrating his magic - which he had some ability to manipulate fabric with, though he was proving rather a late bloomer in terms of magical ability - he began to prod the knot back into a looser, more comfortable shape. "Perhaps you could tell us where we are, though?" he asked as he worked on that, one eye still the group they'd stumbled across. "Sunset got us lost."

Morpheus barely jumped but Cesare squealed and lept behind Lapis, cowering and hiding his head. A tad bit of light flickered out and darkness crept in where his horn had turned off. Rose rolled her eyes and smiled towards the two ponies who'd approach. "Shhheeeeeeyyyyoooot," she whistled, "I'm mighty glad y'all are just a couple a' ponies. Dunno what we'd do if you were a nightmare critter." She turned back to Apple Buck and lightly punched his mid-leg with his hoof. "S'alright," she said, "Ah mean it's a little darker causa chicken boy over there but y'know."
"Shut up Rose!" Cesare squealed. He lifted his head towards the colt. "I like your tie," he said pathetically, "It's a tad ruffled, but that can be fixed."
Morpheus breathed outwards. "Where did you kids come from?" he asked plainly.

Just ponies. Good. Surprising...and odd, but good.
They didn't need anymore Nightmares floating about.
Grunting at the sudden knock against his leg, Apple Buck flashed a half-smile at the southern belle. Talkative thing really did remind him of his half-sister. "Lahke this here youngun' said; it's good y'all ain't a nightmare."
Sprite, meanwhile, sighed, lighting her horn in place of the skittish colt.
Noticing this, Sky Light smiled at her friend, wings carrying her to hover by the curious hybrid's head. "Did Morpheus bring you guys here, too?" She asked, bangs falling into her eyes as her own head tilted.
Lapis, still keeping close to her new colt friend but trailing just the slightest bit away, added "And if he did, might we ask who you are?"

(ooc: I'm sorry for slowing this thread down so much ^^"""")
"Oh, uh, thanks," Amethyst gave a bit of a smile on the compliment of his tie. He did think it looked rather good, even if Sunset's dragging him by it had left it a bit of a mess. He gave the knot one final poke with his magic, before contenting himself that he'd done the best he could without undoing and retying it completely. "Was a nightmare to tie before I learnt how to use my magic, heh," he added, glancing down at his hooves pointedly.
While Amethyst was somewhat preoccupied discussing his tie with Cesare, Sunset quickly decided to take charge of the rest of the conversation. "Nightmare? Morpheus? Ah ain't heard a' them," she replied plainly, shaking her head a little. Then again, she hadn't heard of much outside of her home forest, so it stood to reason that these ponies would know of things she didn't. In any case, she didn't pause to hear an explanation. "We were in th' Everfree Forest, Ah had somethin' to show Amethyst, but Ah musta got lost, 'cus Ah dunno where we are now." She shrugged, affecting nonconcern, although the fact that she didn't know where she'd gone wrong was bothering her a little. One minute, familiar forest trail, the next... utter darkness. At first she'd just assumed Discord had hidden the sun again (day and night were never predictable anymore in Equestria), but now she was seriously doubting it.
Amethyst glanced up as the young mare standing near the colt he'd been talking to asked for their names. He drew himself up a little straighter, hoping his still-rumpled tie and the twigs sticking out of his mane didn't do too much to destroy the effect. "My name's Bright Amethyst, of Manehattan. This is Sunset Blossom, of the Everfree Forest." A moment later, curiosity overcame him. "Who are all of you? Does anyone know where we are?"

(ooc: I... hope it's okay if I jump in. This looks like fun.)
Phantom: Tempest (Discord/Pinkie Pie)
Finding himself in the darkness had caused the already frightened dracconeqques to give in to his fear and retreat inward. He didn't know where he was, what had happened, or how he had gotten to where he was. All he wanted to know was which way 'out' was so he could get back to Ponyville and his mother. How he was meant to accomplish his goal while curled up in a little ball and shaking like a leaf wasn't something he could readily think of. Tempest just wanted out.
He was brought out of his fearful state somewhat when he registered the fact that there were voices coming from somewhere nearby. At first he didn't want to go explore, mostly because he didn't know how the others might react to him, but his instincts were begging for him to find some kind of company so he wouldn't be completely alone anymore. So, against his better judgment, Tempest got to his feet and started to make his way toward the group he had heard.
"H-H-Hello...?" Tempest asked. He could easily make out the shapes of the other ponies against the darkness, but he couldn't recognize any of their appearances. One girl had a rainbow mane and tail like his mother's friend Rainbow Dash, but that was the only immediate resemblance Tempest could see. Who they were was beyond his knowledge. Whether or not they were friendly toward... 'his' kind... well, that had yet to be determined. He'd just have to wait and see what happened.

"I could say the same thing about my sewing," Cesare mumbled, rising and moving from behind Lapis, "Cesare...I'm...Cesare."
Morpheus rolled his eyes. Other ponies. Good. So long as whatever was in this world didn't pop out and scare them, the youth was fine. He grinned sheepishly. "I'm Morpheus," he said, "Uh...not the Morpheus they're referring to. Just good ol' lost and confused as any of you Prince Morpheus." His grin widened, trying to look as non-threatening as possible.
"And AH'M Rodeo Rose!" The girl quipped, "Apple Family! Just like this ol' feller here." She grinned up at Apple Buck. "We was just tryin' ta figure out where the hay we were. Or at least what the hay was goin' on."
Morpheus turned his head to the wind. He moved his hooves towards where Tempest was, ears flicked back. Damnit, how he wished his horn would at least glow. He squinted trying to see in the dark. "I hear you," he said softly, "Come into the light. What little there is of it." Cesare turned up his horn on cue, ears flicking back in embarrassment.

"What the buck are you?"
"Sprite!" Lapis barked, not unlike her mother would when she was younger. The blond unicorn scowled, waving a hoof at the odd creature.
"What? You can't tell me he doesn't look weird."
"Morpheus looks weird." Sky Light piped up, pointing at the unicorn hybrid. "You didn't say anything 'bout him."
Apple Buck sighed, shooting a glance at Lapis.
"Fir the love a Celestia; cain't y'all keep quiet long enough to let the little feller speak fer 'imself?" He turned to the pony-but not quite-colt, bi-colored eyes gent long as best they could (seriously, what kinda creature did this pony's mother or father sleep with? "Mah name's Apple Buck. Tweedles Dee and Dum o'er there are Sprite an' Sky Light, an' the lady's name is Lapis Lazuli. Who're you?"

"Ah'm Apple Family too. Sorta," Sunset replied to her rainbow-maned relative, continuing the conversation as though there wasn't a strange-looking hybrid aproaching; let the older males worry about him, she thought. "Ah reckon we must still somewhere in the Everfree Forest, but ain't never seen anything quite like this place before, an' Ah lived there all mah life." As far as she could remember, anyway. But that aside, it was a bit of a puzzle to the filly, honestly. She knew the forest like the back of her hoof, and knew there wasn't anyplace like this in as much of it as she'd explored. Her red hair bounced about her face as Sunset shook her head.
"Ah guess Ah'm just as lost as y'all are," she confessed.
Amethyst nodded sympathetically by way of response to Cesare. "I didn't learn how to use my magic for ages. Dad just said I was a late bloomer and it wasn't a bad thing, but..." he shrugged. "Well, I'm able to now, at any rate. But I haven't really mastered using it yet. I can manipulate fabric, but I don't know how to do much more than that." Somehow, Amethyst felt as though it was alright to confide this to Cesare - maybe because the way the other colt reminded Amethyst of his own parents made him seem trustworthy.
Unlike Sunset, however, Amethyst whipped around at the sound of someone else approaching. As far as he was aware, they were still somewhere really deep in the unnatural world of the Everfree Forest, and who knew what vicious beasts lurked down here? What if this was one of them? He squinted, trying to make out the shape of just what was moving beyond the light the other unicorns were casting.

Somewhat reassured by the sounds of the voices, Tempest came toward the light. Once he was closer, though, he felt the need to cautiously step into it in case his appearance threw any of the other ponies off. He was a strange looking creature, after all. Who wouldn't be thrown off by the sight of something that looked like it was related to Discord? Even still, Tempest decided to chance it. With no one else to turn to in the darkness, he thought it'd be best to just hope he could trust the voices he had heard.
Now fully in what little light there was, Tempest had a better look at the ponies he had heard. Unicorns, pegasi, something that looked somewhat similar to him in that he was a hybrid of some kind, and of course some earth foals. Of course. He just had to be one of the more odd beings. And then, the harsh words came. One of them had already pointed out he was a freak. Ears pinned back and his tail drooped, but no words came for a few moments. Tempest wanted to try and show that he wasn't bad. Before that could happen, though, he needed to introduce himself.
"I... I'm Tempest."

Morpheus turned a stern look on the loud little filly. "Language if you don't mind," he clucked, moving his hooves towards the youth, "It's nice to meet you Tempest. Don't worry. Nobody's gonna hurt you. As the little lady pointed out, I look weird too so you're okay." It was meant as a joke, the changlicorn giving the boy a soft smile. He turned his head towards the others and gave a nod. "It looks as if this nightmare world of yours didn't only spill you but many other ponies as well." His ears flicked forward as he tried on his father's stern brave look.
"We ain't in the Everfree forest, sugar," Rose said with a click of her tongue, "Apparently we're in some mess called nightmare world. Sheeeyooot, this is the scariest place ah've been." She huddled close to her family member, Apple Buck. She looked up at him. "How d'you think we're related, Apple Buck?" She asked trying to keep the subject light, "Maybe cousins?"
"We should probably stick together," Cesare whimpered, covering his white head with his hooves and shivering, letting his horn hang out to shed light, "I'm scared. If I had SOMETHING to defend myself with. But Auntie Twilight's the only pony I know who can at least use her magic offensively. I can just use mine to make outfits..."

Sprite wrinkled her muzzle at the green-eyed hybrid, rolling her eyes. She did not pursue the matter further.
Curious, Sky Light dropped down by this Tempest character, green-blue eyes wide with wonder. "Yep. Looks that way." She said in response to Morpheus, then addressed the smaller hybrid, "but I've never seen anypony like you before." He was...really kind of cool. Strange, but cool. How'd he get all those different parts?
Apple Buck, meanwhile, drew instinctively closer to his rainbow-haired kin, but nearly shied away again when she changed topics. "Uh...well, we both live in Appleloosa, right? Maybe our daddies are cousins or sumthin'"
"Oh don't be scared." Lapis placed a hoof on Cesare's back, an encouraging smile on her face. "We'll be alright. There's more of us now. Harder to corrupt a group than individuals." She paused, looking over her friends and newcomers. Despite he words, most of them were teens, with very little experience in any sort of combat or magic. Not that she was one to talk, but...
Wait.
"Auntie Twilight? You mean Twilight Sparkle?"

"We ain't?" This bit of information was enough to knock Sunset offbalance. For all her survival skills when it came to the forest's dark depths, she hadn't set hoof outside of it since... well, since before she could remember, at least, and the red-maned filly suddenly looked a lot less confident. "Ah don't get it, how'd we git here?" her golden eyes darted about nervously. Was Discord behind this? She'd always heard and believed that the forest was safe from the chaos-tyrant's influences, if for no other reason than he believed it wasn't worth his time... but he was the only being with the power to pluck them out of one world and deposite them in another, right?
She shuffled closer to the two members of the Apple family, of which she counted herself a part of. Her first mom was an Apple, after all, and Auntie Applejack and Uncle Macintosh, who stopped by on occasion to check on their sister, hadn't had any objection to accepting that she was one of them... even if her talents didn't really involve anything to do with fruit. For once, however, the usually fiesty filly didn't try and butt into their conversation - a measure of just how much not being in the forest anymore had thrown her.
"Can you at least tell me how you do that light thing with your horn?" Amethyst asked the cowering Cesare, while trying to keep an eye and ear on everything else that was going on at the same time. As far as he could tell, Sunset had got them lost - he'd never be back by the time he'd promised mom now, he thought miserably. This newcomer - Tempest - looked something like that one hybrid he'd seen back at the Rebellion's gathering, though Amethyst didn't know enough about Ares to guess what this might mean. And then there was the fact that Cesare - and, in fact, the blue-maned mare unicorn as well - reminded him somehow of both of his parents. It was odd, in a way he couldn't quite place, and Amethyst felt tempted to comment on it, though for the time being, he kept quiet.

"Right... yeah... stick together." Tempest repeated quietly. He didn't really have a choice in the matter, as he was all alone and didn't think he'd be getting back home any time soon. What other choice was there beyond staying with the others and hoping they would at least tolerate his presence long enough for him to determine if they were as nice as some of them seemed? What was more, Tempest kind of enjoyed having their company. It was true he was a little uncertain since one had been quick to point out he was weird looking, but otherwise... maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
"Where should we even go?" he decided to ask. He couldn't think of much for the group to even do. How were they even supposed to determine where they were supposed to go?
