Vanellope bit her lip slightly as she waited for a response. Maybe Candlehead didn't know where she was, after all. Maybe she had imagined hearing her friend's voice. Maybe-
Then, Vanellope heard what sounded like a flame being lit. She whirled around, hoping to see where it had come from, and to her everlasting delight she could see the flickering flame in the distance. Vanellope could have squealed with delight right then, but she suppressed the desire to do so. She could hold off long enough to get over to her friend before giving in to her desire to celebrate their reunion. At length, Vanellope nodded in response. Realizing that Candlehead couldn't hear her, though, she decided to vocalize her response.
"Yeah, I see you! Hang on! I'm coming over there right now!" Vanellope called. With that, she broke into a run and headed over in the direction of the little flickering flame. As she ran, Vanellope's eyes filled with hope. Maybe Candelaria had been wrong. The real Candlehead was right under her nose the whole time! That just had to be the case.

'I'm coming over right now.' Candle's eyes filled with hope. Someone actually cared. Someone had come searching for her. It was something that the young racer had hoped for since she had gotten stuck inside. But would it really be worth it? Could they be able to find their way out? What if she hurt someone else? What if she made Vanellope disappear too?
She didn't want that. To have another person look at her in disgust in fear. To have people run away from her. Now she was sort of understanding how Vanellope felt before she had gotten her place back. It had been a mistake, surely the other characters of the game would have realized that. A mistake.

Closer and closer Vanellope got, and with every step her heart seemed to race a bit faster. Her body glitched visibly with the prospect of being able to see Candlehead again. It had been far too long, at least in Vanellope's opinion, since she had last seen her companion. Even if the others in Sugar Rush didn't care what had happened to her, Vanellope did. She just wanted to see her friend again and now she had her chance. Hopefully, Candlehead would be happy to see her. It sounded like she was happy just hearing her voice. Now it was a matter of actually getting to see her again.
At long last, Vanellope reached her destination. She could see Candlehead a lot more clearly thanks to the flickering flame of her cupcake hat, and a little squeak of happiness escaped Vanellope when she saw her.
"Candlehead!"

Candle gave a weak smile at hte fellow racer. "Hi...Vanellope." she tried her best to give a more happy smile. To let her friend know she was okay. But in truth she wasn't. The candleheaded racer wasn't sure how to feel about seeing Vanellope stuck in here with her. Happy? Fearful? Scared? After all, Vanellope was not in chains like she was.
"You met her didn't you?"

The happiness in Vanellope's features disappeared after a moment when she saw the chains Candlehead was in. Why was she chained up? It was like when King Candy had been in charge and thrown her in the fungeon, except with the big old 'glitch proof' being written on the chains. The sight made Vanellope feel bad. Candlehead didn't deserve to be chained up like that. Nobody did as far as she was concerned. Then again, Vanellope wasn't the type to use that sort of punishment.
She stepped a little closer as Candlehead asked her question and nodded a little. The burn from the fireball she'd been hit with might not have been been entirely visible, but her clothes appeared scorched in places. Her body also was in pain because of it, but she was doing her best to ignore it. Vanellope's concern was Candlehead right then.
"Yeah. Yeah, I met her. She tried to convince me to stay here and abandon Sugar Rush." Vanellope said. It was terrible, at least in her opinion. No way was she repeating the actions of the one who had tried to kill her and had taken over Sugar Rush.
"I didn't listen to her, though. I came to this game to get you back home...Even if I did get a little roughed up in the process." Vanellope said. She was referring to the burn she had suffered because of her stubbornness, naturally. Vanellope didn't want to dwell on that for too long, though.

Candle looked at Vanellope's arm in nervousness before shaking her head. "I...i didn't mean to do anything wrong. I swear i didn't." she replied. "it was an accident. i didn't mean for this to happen." sadness filed Candle's head and heart all at once. "I ruined this game. I don't deserve to go back to Sugar Rush." she looked up at Vanellope with tears burning in them. "I swear i didn't mean to do it, it was an accident."

"What...?"
Vanellope felt herself glitch, and a sense of deja vu hit her. It was like that moment when Ralph had tried to convince her not to race. She had come all the way to this particular game looking for her friend, and Vanellope hadn't intended on leaving without her. Now she was being told to essentially abandon her mission because Candlehead thought she didn't deserve to come home? Vanellope shook her head; she wasn't going to hear any of that.
"Look, Candlehead, you're my friend. Whatever you did, we can try to fix it. I'm sure we can do something. Whatever it is, it can't be that bad... Can it?" Vanellope asked. Somehow, though, she didn't know if that was entirely true. She'd seen Candelaria for herself and she'd seen what she was able to do. Had Candlehead unintentionally brought the other girl into existence? If so, how had she done it? Vanellope needed answers.

"I can't fix it." Candlehead replied. "After the fight with Priscilla, i just needed to be alone, for awhile, you know clear my head. So, i went to some of the other games, just to try to forget the hurtful words. So, i went to see Felix, thinking maybe he could help. See if i could just let it out." she shook her head. "He was busy i guess, so i went to the DDR games, i always liked watching the dancers. Funny right? So one of the girls told me about this game. About the princess who said that she always offered an ear."
the green haired racer tried to hug her knees but found it hard to do. "She was very nice, and friendly, she offered me a place to stay just for awhile, but she freaked when she saw this red glitching thing i have been doing. She freaked and screamed. I-I-i didn't want to get into trouble and i tried to get her to stop yelling, and when i did she just...disappeared."
She couldnt' get Rosemary's scream out of her mind, it hurt worse than anything. "The guards weren't sure what to do, they were scared of me. I tried to say it wasn't my fault that i didn't mean to-but they wouldn't listen."

Vanellope froze for a moment when she heard Candlehead mention glitching. She'd glitched? And it was red? That... That sounded like what Turbo had looked like when she'd unintentionally revealed him for who he really was. Vanellope refused to leave, though. Candlehead was her friend and she didn't want to just abandon her because she had heard her friend was apparently glitched. Maybe it wasn't even her being glitched. Vanellope thought that something had happened, but she wasn't sure what. Instead of asking, though, Vanellope shook her head and let herself come back to reality. Candlehead was still trapped and Candelaria was running around like she owned the place.
"So... Is that why Candelaria's running around out there? Why the lady that led me to her seemed kind of freaked out when I mentioned your name?" Vanellope asked. She refused to abandon Candlehead because of this. Even if she believed she'd wrecked a game, the game hadn't been unplugged. Maybe there was a way to salvage it somehow and maybe she would be able to help her friend.

"Because...that's me Vanellope." she replied. "That girl, the one you are seeing in the black and red. That's me." Candle didn't look at Vanellope's gaze. "After that girl disappeared, i just felt so, alone, and hated. I couldn't take it. It just started consuming me. Eventually, i liked the power i was getting, i knew it to."
she shook her head. "But the back of my mind told me that what i was doing was wrong, and i guess the new me didn't like that very much so she placed "the good" side of her in here." she shook her head slightly. "I'm a virus vanellope."

Virus...
Brown-green eyes filled with disbelief, and she took a slight step back as her body glitched a bit. Viruses weren't something Vanellope knew a lot about, but from what Sour Bill had told her after she'd recovered from being sick she had gathered that they weren't good things. But Candlehead was good. She was too naive and innocent to want to do harm to a game. Unlike Turbo, Vanellope couldn't think of any ill intentions Candlehead could have had. She'd even said herself that she hadn't meant to do anything wrong. That had to count for something!
"N-No... No, you're not. You can't be a virus!" Vanellope blurted out. She refused to believe it. There was no way that her friend was something that was supposed to be bad. It just didn't make any sense to her. Vanellope closed the gap between them and got on her knees so that she could be on the same level of ground as Candlehead, her body glitching again as she moved downward. Vanellope didn't care about how insane her idea was right then. All she cared about was bringing Candlehead back home where she belonged. To do that, she needed to prove to Candlehead and the game she had unintentionally damaged that she wasn't a virus. ...Assuming she could do that at all.
"C'mon... We can get you out of here. We can prove that you're not bad. I mean, if we were able to restore me from being a glitch then we have to be able to do this! I... I can't just leave you here." Vanellope said.

Candlehead had almost forgotten how nice Vanellope had been. Almost. Her eyes lit up a bit as she turned to her friend. "Do you really think we can?" she asked. "I mean, really do you think we can fix all the things that i broke?" she wasn't sure what the point of her being here was but obviously if Vanellope could help then maybe there was a chance that maybe a real miracle could happen.
"Thank you."

"Sure, I'm sure! Or my name isn't Vanellope von Schweetz." Vanellope replied. Now all that remained was to find some way to get Candlehead out of those chains. They didn't look glitch-proof, but she didn't know if they were or not. It was something she'd have to ask about. Vanellope frowned a little and looked the chains over. She carefully reached out to the chains and let her hand slide against the smooth metal.
"Are those glitch-proof? Or are they just regular ol' chains? Not really sure how I'm supposed to get you out." Vanellope admitted.

Candlehead glanced at the chains. "I'm not really sure, i don't think she was really expecting anyone else to come in here. I'm the only one that's been here, or rather she has. So it might work."

Vanellope gave a decisive nod and held her hand out for Candlehead to take. If all went according to the plan she was forming, then she could glitch Candlehead out of the chains and they could go on their way to prove that she was innocent. That was how she was hoping it would play out, of course. Vanellope had no real way of knowing whether or not this would actually be how it played out. For the moment, though, she would be satisfied with just getting Candlehead to trust her with letting her glitch out of the chains.
"Just take my hand, and I'm gonna try to get you out of those chains." Vanellope said. She didn't think Candlehead had a reason to not trust her, but on the off chance that she did then she wanted to make sure she knew it was safe. A smile formed on her features and her expression softened.
"Don't worry. You can totally trust me with this. Neither of us is gonna get hurt, I'm sure of it."
