Hope you don't mind it's in the AU section, Partner. I kind of want to play out this meeting based on my AU for these two. Anyway! Meeting thread for Dixie and Lil Lightning, wherein I'll be playing Lightning and Partner will be Dixie.
It was ridiculously cold.
Lightning had grown adjusted to the warmth of his old home, and while the pound hadn't exactly been the most comfortable place it had at least provided shelter. But the young woman who had adopted him had decided to move, and Lightning didn't exactly have a lot of choice in the matter of whether or not he came with her. So when she packed her bags and left, Lightning was packed with her and put in his new carrier. Their destination? Nome, Alaska. Also known as that state in the United States that no one really cared about and was full of snow. Lightning hated that he and his human couldn't communicate, because if they could then he would tell her that the idea sucked. Alas, the corgi didn't have the means to tell her this.
So, there he was, in the snow, with a scarf wrapped around his neck and a supposedly cute little sweater on him. Lightning hated that sweater. Actually, it was safe to assume the cynical little corgi didn't like a lot of things. He did like that he had been allowed to keep his collar from the Thunderbolt show. Even though it did kind of bring up bad memories of that spotted dog and Blunderbolt, Lightning did have to admit that it fit him. The golden lightning bolt shaped tag was visible, poking out from the scarf around his neck, and he kind of smirked at it. At least he had a little reminder of what could have been.
With nothing else to do while his owner got things set up in their new house, Lightning decided to check out the new surroundings. So far, all Lightning had seen was snow, snow, and more snow. There were buildings, yes, but no other dogs as far as he could tell. But... Maybe that was a good thing. There was no one here who would recognize him as far as he knew. That meant that he could spin things in a better light if the story of his past came up. Yes... Lightning liked this idea. He didn't like the cold feeling of snow between his toes, though. Stupid snow... Was there anything good about it? Moreover, was there anything good about the place he was going to call home? Nothing was standing out so far...
